Annother net.newbie.clueless who doesn't know yet about reading the Newsgroups: line,at,the, beginning,of,a,message. If you did, you would have noticed that Eileen was posting an follow up to an thread being read by the readers of 3 newsgroups (a.tg, a.s.srs and s.s.tg), this is known in the jargon of Usenet as an crossposted thread. When this happens you must accept that some (in this case about 2/3) of all readers/posters are nor into your interests (in this case SRS), but into others (in this case TG, inclusive myself). Flaming them for their interests not fitting you is not behaviour.acceptable. Kaylin, if you want to flame someone, got to the first message in this thread (use the References: line for this) and see if it justified being sent to all 3 groups involved. If it did, then just accept the non fitting follow ups as some of the random stuff on Usenet, if it didn't, then flame the original poster to not crosspost to a.s.srs in future. Eileen McCleary was surprised: >Oops, did I just blunder into the wrong NG? I thought I had selected >alt.support.transgendered. Did I accidently get alt.support.srs? You are in the right place, actually alt.tg (without support) or soc.sup.tg. There are just 1/3 a.s.srs listening in on us. And one of them didn't cotton on to what was happening. >Or, has "transgendered" been recently redefined as = "transexual". >I was with the understanding that the charter for this NG was for >discussing issues that pertain to all flavors of transgendered, not >just the transexual folks.
