I don't think there was ever an official statement as to what the "Fatima letter" contained. But, re: the question. with only 2 popes left this sounds like the "Prophecy of Saint Malachi", which is rather old. Much like Nostradamus' work, it consists of brief prophecies, in this case 2 or 3 word annotations as to what each pope will be. I lack an immediate source, but as I recall, there is no prophecy by "St. M" as to the end of the world, but just a general statement that "this is a list of all the popes who will ever be". I wouldn't be surprised if the Roman Catholics had specifically repudiated this document, nor if they hadn't. In any case, this may be the document referred to above. Regardless of its truth/falsity, it isn't an "official" church policy. I attend Church and classes regularly and I have read the _Catholic Catechist_ cover to cover and found nothing relating to this statement regarding only two more popes. I went to the index, and I went to the outline. Nope, .....nothing about only two more popes. It would help me understand much better what you are getting at if you could cite your source so that I may study it. This is something that I would dearly like to have cleared up in my mind. It would make me feel better if I could only read it, see it for myself. Prophecies? Which Prophet, please? I can't find it in my Bible, either, about only so many popes until the end of the millennium. I am sorry, but your point is lost on me because I don't understand this only two popes thing.....never heard it before. I am not chastising, at least not intentionally. I would just like to understand where this is coming from.... -- Lady Chatzie Massy Madness takes it's toll, please have exact change. I can't find it in my Bible, either, about only so many popes until the end of the millennium. I am not the originator of above, but I may be able to clarify it a bit (or add more confusion:-)) In: Nostradamus, Visions of the Future; from J H Brennan HarperCollins; 1992; ISBN 1-85538-145-1 I found (on page 155-156): Saint Malachy (Maelmaedoc ua Morgair), 12th century Irish Bishop (ordained 1119). He visited Rome in 1138, there fell in trance, and after gave list of Latin mottoes of the 112 Popes "from his own day until the final fall of the Church of Rome" (citation from the book). The list was sent to the Vatican which first kept it secret, but then published it in 1590. Popes of the 20th century are described as: "Religio Depopulata" (the depopulated religion), Benedict XV, first World War "Pastor Angelicus" (angelic sheperd), Pius XII, 1939-1958 "Pastor et Nauta" (shepherd and navigator), John XXIII, begin ecumene? "Flos Florum" (Flower of Flowers), Paul VI, floral motiv on his arms "De Meditate Lunae" (from middle of moon), John Paul I, from middle of month "De Labore Solis" (labour of the sun), John Paul II, poland = worker state? Left over are: "Gloria Olivae" (glory of olive tree) "Petrus Romanus" (Peter of Rome) < end of List > Yours in service, not-yet-SCAdian Neil Franklin. -- Neil.Franklin@ccw.ch, http://www.ccw.ch/Neil.Franklin/ for Geek Code, Papernet, Voicenet, PGP public key see http: Any computer, that is running optimally, is outdated; including my 486
