Well, Leetha and Rayek of this potential three-mating are sun vilagers and so immortal. So that only leaves Cutter. And for him, there is quite a bit open: - Wolfriders still live thousands of years (Woodlock and Rainsong are given with over 2500 in the EQ timeline). OTOH Cutter was only a bit over 500 when going into wrappstuff. And Jink is about 900 years after him coming out, so he is only at about 1/2..3/5 of his life, as far as we can estimate it. - Wolfriders can lose their mortality, as seen in at least Suntop, Wing and Skywise (I have only read up to KotBW). And the Skywise method is definitely available to Cutter. - And the entire issue with what happens when Cutter nears death is still unresolved. Before sun village no wolfrider ever reached the age needed to die from it (or even know of it!). Death by accident was expected. And since then only a few have died voluntarily, and these were all the most non-aggressive ones that stayed there and never went out for adventures. What will Cutter do here? What is the important part of the way? How will Leetah react to him? How will Cutter react back? His "brother in all but blood" has decided against mortality (on false assumption of Cutter being dead). There is still an entire story of soul searching here waiting to be told. So such an three-mating is biologically still possible for at least 1000 years, and possible longer. Of course Rayek needs to change. Ummm, who is strong in the old abilities, is quite an expert on mending palaces, has experience in shaping blue mountains (and collapsing them in the process :-)) and after that said something about "not until..." :-). It was a she-bear for me to find again, let me tell you! ;-D I thought it was in "Futurequest" but it's not, it was way back (so to speak) in "The Rebels" #7 (11th page). I only have the black & white RC (Skyward Shadow), so I don't know for sure if it's got the right skin color to be Cutter's leg stepping out of the bed. It looks like the right shade of pale. (Can anyone who has that issue in color confirm the skin tone??). The bed pit reminds me of Leetah's bed in the Sun Village: round, flat on the floor in the center of the chamber, and big enough to hold several people. Well, that's my impression, anyway, from what I can see of it. And to forestall other questions... the Strongbow appearance and our most complete glimpses of the "Master of the Palace" are both in the "Metamorphosis" installment of "Futurequest." ###### From: fyn_galon@hotmail.com (Robin Lee) Newsgroups: rec.arts.comics.elfquest Subject: Re: Or was it just a figure of speech? I always thought this foot was Skywise's :) He is the one to learn how to fly the palace with Timain after all. And about this Threemating between Cutter, Leetha and Rayek, you seems to forget that Rayek has changed a lot after he had to carry the black snake's soul within. His spirit may have found a new way of life and thinking wich could match the union with Cutter and Leetha. Only his high one like body may definitively compromise such an union... Fanch
