At this point, most of the stock of the first production run of Series 1 is sold, and we are not yet able to get any supply of the remainder to sell through the online shop. As for another "Elfquest soundtrack" (by which I'm guessing you mean "A Wolfrider's Reflections") we'd love to offer that too - as soon as we can find the music and musicians to do it. We have a couple of submissions we're considering, but nothing's been decided yet. ###### Message-ID: <3D4DCD28.D6C0288F@subdimension.com> From: Sylver X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.79 [en] (Win98; U) X-Accept-Language: en MIME-Version: 1.0 Newsgroups: rec.arts.comics.elfquest Subject: Re: Hey Richard! As much as I loved the Celtic feel of "Wolfrider's Reflections", I'd love to hear some tunes done in Alternative Rock, 60's & 70's, and Oldies style... I know I've dedicated different "alternative" style themes to Elfquest, or specific Elfquest characters, or certain specific Elfquest scenes. Celtic/country/accoustic would be what they might listen to in such a world, but any kind of music can remind us, depending on our own taste & connections, of Elfquest. Besides, what is it the elves hear when they "send" share their songs? I'd imagine that heartbeat, bloodflow, breath, even emotion and memory go into the sound then, so you might get something out of that which we would need a whole studio to produce. --Amee ###### From: tinkrbell@geocities.com (Mari) Newsgroups: rec.arts.comics.elfquest Subject: Re: Hey Richard! I enjoy music with a tempo that accelerates, capturing the spirit of a hunt from either the predator or prey. From classical to new ago and rave, I've found many compositions that convey conflict, attraction or just star-gazing (Skywise's theme?). Amee Flynn wrote: >I know I've dedicated different "alternative" style themes to Elfquest, or >specific Elfquest characters, or certain specific Elfquest scenes. > >Celtic/country/accoustic would be what they might listen to in such a world, I think you are inferring your own musical background and comfort to the Elves. Perhaps they're 12-tone or totally non-chromatic. Perhaps they sing like Tibetan Monks with harmonic chanting to simulate the wind in the caves and canyons? > but any kind of music can remind us, > depending on our own taste & connections, of Elfquest. Agreed! But I would not infer that Elf-music is anything like what we currently have here on earth. >Besides, what is it the elves hear when they "send" share their songs? I'd >imagine that heartbeat, bloodflow, breath, even emotion and memory go into >the sound then Oh man, if only we could "send" and share that, there would be no need for "e" or such as raves! There's lotsa music with primal beats, sounds and effects that would be great for real skyclad dancing, campfire dances, etc. But that further fuels my assertion that elf-music would highly integrate senses that we barely have concepts to describe. Just try writing about scents or taste, the English language is woefully inadequate in describing that. Now try to describe things BEYOND that and I don't see enough foundation the language to do that comfortably for the reader :"< *whimper* I too have tremendous affection for Cutter and what he's capable of enjoying and sharing, for I too have inferred a lot of sensuality and sense-awareness to elf-capabilities. That's what I was thinking. I was listening to one of my Tea Party (Canadian band) CD's recently, and I think that they could probably do some justice to an EQ themed song. The only type of music I don't think would work would be heavy metal/death metal. Geannie. (PS.
