I had a FANTASTIC and quite vivid dream the other night, and I still remember it. I was (I'm SURE) At Dol Amroth... and I was looking north east towards the Anduin/Minas Tirith and Mordor. I could see (somehow) the shining white of Minas Tirith and then my 'perspective' began to rise and I could see Minas Tirith as a shining white beacon and Barad Dur (it could have been Minas Morgul) as a Dark Shadow. Then my view took me further up the Anduin and in the distance I could espy the southern eaves of Mirkwood and near to it - but way in the distance the Argonath (from the back). I didn't actually leave the general viscinity of Dol Amroth and I could see white capped mountains and hills closer by. The White Mountains and the hills leading down to Dol Amroth I guess. There was a group of people near me. Even possibly Gandalf! :o) Great Dream. Bizarre - but really good. So has anyone else had vivid dreams about Middle Earth? I'm sure I've had others - but that was the most recent and the one most fresh in my mind. I counted like a baker's dozen references to white stuff, including Dol Amroth. I don't think this was intentional on your part, nor on Tolkien's part, nor on the sagas from which he lifted much of the heroic style in LOTR. There's just a lot of white stuff in nature, I guess. ###### From: s348712@student_SPAM_.uq.edu.au (AndrewR) Newsgroups: rec.arts.books.tolkien Subject: Re: Middle-Earth dreaming Date: Sat, 22 Jun 2002 13:42:14 GMT Organization: University of Queensland Lines: 23 Message-ID: <3d147e58.3845048@news.uq.edu.au> References: <3d12bb59.2396686@news.uq.edu.au> <20020621022516.12168.00001116@mb-ft.aol.com> NNTP-Posting-Host: d-232-51.stlucia.uq.net.au X-Trace: bunyip.cc.uq.edu.au 1024753065 5754 203.101.232.51 (22 Jun 2002 13:37:45 GMT) X-Complaints-To: news@uq.edu.au NNTP-Posting-Date: 22 Jun 2002 13:37:45 GMT X-Newsreader: Forte Free Agent 1.21/32.243 Path: chonsp.franklin.ch!pfaff.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!news.imp.ch!news.imp.ch!eusc.inter.net!priapus.visi.com!news-out.visi.com!hermes.visi.com!news1.optus.net.au!optus!bunyip.cc.uq.edu.au!not-for-mail Xref: chonsp.franklin.ch rec.arts.books.tolkien:89309 On 21 Jun 2002 06:25:16 GMT, wilbur07@aol.com (Mark Constantino) wrote: >Nice dream. LOL! Heheheheh. Is Dol Amroth white? I actually didn't SEE Dol Amroth - but knew I was there looking North East. And of course there is the WHITE Mountains and Minas Tirith the WHITE city... but then I also saw the deep black of Minas Morgal and Barad Dur and the Anduin sparkling in the distance. -- AndrewR Guardian of Willow's resolve face. ###### From: s348712@student_SPAM_.uq.edu.au (AndrewR) Newsgroups: rec.arts.books.tolkien Subject: Re: Middle-Earth dreaming Date: Sat, 22 Jun 2002 13:42:51 GMT Organization: University of Queensland Lines: 21 Message-ID: <3d147ec4.3952738@news.uq.edu.au> References: <3d12bb59.2396686@news.uq.edu.au> NNTP-Posting-Host: d-232-51.stlucia.uq.net.au X-Trace: bunyip.cc.uq.edu.au 1024753103 5754 203.101.232.51 (22 Jun 2002 13:38:23 GMT) X-Complaints-To: news@uq.edu.au NNTP-Posting-Date: 22 Jun 2002 13:38:23 GMT X-Newsreader: Forte Free Agent 1.21/32.243 Path: chonsp.franklin.ch!pfaff.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!news.mailgate.org!newsfeed.icl.net!news.maxwell.syr.edu!news1.optus.net.au!optus!bunyip.cc.uq.edu.au!not-for-mail Xref: chonsp.franklin.ch rec.arts.books.tolkien:89311 On Fri, 21 Jun 2002 19:41:41 +0100, "Speaking Clock" wrote: >"AndrewR" wrote > >> So has anyone else had vivid dreams about Middle Earth?
