Hi all,

I've added a little bit to my page--the scene at the doors of Moria and a
revamping
of the photos of the cast.  I will be extending "A Journey in the Dark" to
include
more scenes, but I'm waiting for some Legos I ordered on e-bay to come.

On Brickbay (a Lego sales site) it looks like I've spent a little 
under $200 US.  I don't know how much I've spent on e-bay, 
but perhaps about the same over the last year and a half.

Ok, I saw you mention Brickbay the last time, nice site. So it didn't set 
you back more then that, will that let you keep the terrain standing or 
do you demolish?

Oh, no, I'm tearing things down soon after taking the photos.  For instance,
those grey rock pieces in the cliffs of Moria are the same ones that make
up the hills to the east of the Ford of Bruinen.  Keeping them all together
would quickly strain both my Lego-buying budget and the space in my
small apartment.

Tearing things down does lead to some problems, though, if I wanted
to re-use my settings.  For example, in "The Ring Goes South" they leave
Rivendell and take the road down to the Ford of Bruinen and then turn 
towards the south.  If I hadn't already torn that down I'd probably take
another photo of that.  Oh well.  I'm trying to plan ahead so I don't run
into that problem too much.  For instance, when I get around to building
Orthanc for the scenes after Helm's Deep, I'll also take a couple of
pictures to illustrate Gandalf's narrative at the Council of Elrond and
I'll insert them in the appropriate place there.  Again, when I build
the exterior of Minas Tirith (which is basically going to be a gate, a
chunk of wall, a tower, and the ground in front) I'll take pictures
of Gandalf arriving with Pippin, Gandalf's confrontation with the 
Witch King, Aragorn's triumphant entry, etc.

I still can't get over how good this is...... amazing. I love that last shot
in journey in the dark, btw... very claustrophobic. It's better than the
goddamn films :o)
