Anyway, I'm assuming that I'm interpretting the documentation correctly that there isn't anything along the way of DZ11 ports to connect to with KLH10 is there? Basically I've got to log in on the console terminal, or get TOPS-20 running TCP/IP if I'm reading things right. Even if that's the case, all I can say is it's worth it to run TOPS-20 V7.0 since that's what all the doc's are for. Zane PS Now seems like a good time to remind people that they can find TOPS-20 V7.0 documentation at: http://www.aracnet.com/~healyzh/pdp10emu.html ###### Reply-To: "Douglas H. TOPS-20 had (has) native support for Ethernet & TCP/IP, with FTP, TELNET, and all the usual familiar toys, if I've not misunderstood the postings I've seen here. The docs indicate that KLH10 implements the KLNI/NIA20 ethernet interface, and if the emulator hooks that up to whatever Ethernet support is provided by the host, then you're already there. Or almost... -dq -- Surgically Excise the Pig-Latin from my e-mail address in order to reply... Oops, looks like one of the two links pointing to that was wrong. It's fixed now. I'm working on getting various changes made to the page to reflect the release of KLH10 right now. I just got done adding links to all of the TOPS-20 V7.0 tapes. Zane ###### Reply-To: "Douglas H. Quebbeman" From: "Douglas H. Adding a terminal mux would not be hard, but it was never necessary given the much greater speed and flexibility of net access via TCP/IP, DECNET, etc. I can see why a mux might be desirable for a KS10 TOPS-20 system, which AFAIK never supported TCP/IP. If you wanted to do such a thing, I would recommend going for a DH11 instead of a DZ11; less monitor overhead. --Ken
