I do not know anything about how the KS was cobbled into the net, but I did have to certify it for DECnet Phase IV. So there has to be some way of getting it on an ethernet. Take a look at the ethernet monitor modules (I can't remember their names) and see if there are any KS10 feature test switches in them. There also should be sample builds for a KS monitor with DECnet somewhere on the monitor tape. /BAH Subtract a hundred and four for e-mail. ###### From: Arthur Krewat Newsgroups: alt.sys.pdp10 Subject: Re: Networking support Organization: Kilonet.net Lines: 22 Message-ID: <3B62C5CC.7467D069@bartek.dontspamme.net> References: Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.7 [en] (X11; I; SunOS 5.8 i86pc) X-Accept-Language: en Date: Sat, 28 Jul 2001 14:07:20 GMT NNTP-Posting-Host: 24.186.100.134 X-Trace: news02.optonline.net 996329240 24.186.100.134 (Sat, 28 Jul 2001 10:07:20 EDT) NNTP-Posting-Date: Sat, 28 Jul 2001 10:07:20 EDT Path: chonsp.franklin.ch!pfaff.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!news-ge.switch.ch!news.bme.hu!andromeda.datanet.hu!newsfeed.gamma.ru!Gamma.RU!news.stealth.net!news-east.rr.com!news01.optonline.net!news02.optonline.net.POSTED!not-for-mail Xref: chonsp.franklin.ch alt.sys.pdp10:6204 Harris Newman wrote: > > Bob, > Any chance of adding a driver for ethernet support for simh? I'm sure he (or someone else, maybe me?) can do it, all it requires is free time :) This may have been asked many times, but anyone have specs on an Ethernet card for a KS10? Was there ever such an animal as a plain-jane UNIBUS ethernet card used as "supported" hardware in a KS10, without a PDP-11 in the middle? Too bad I ebay'd my DEUNA :) At worst, we can emulate a DEUNA, but I'm pretty sure the KS10 never did that. aak ###### From: Timothy Stark Newsgroups: alt.sys.pdp10 Subject: Re: Networking support Date: Sat, 28 Jul 2001 15:39:42 -0000 Message-ID: References: <3B62C5CC.7467D069@bartek.dontspamme.net> User-Agent: tin/1.4.4-20000803 ("Vet for the Insane") (UNIX) (Linux/2.2.19 (i686)) X-Complaints-To: newsabuse@supernews.com Lines: 39 Path: chonsp.franklin.ch!pfaff.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!news-ge.switch.ch!newsfeed00.sul.t-online.de!t-online.de!news-spur1.maxwell.syr.edu!news.maxwell.syr.edu!sn-xit-03!sn-post-02!sn-post-01!supernews.com!corp.supernews.com!not-for-mail Xref: chonsp.franklin.ch alt.sys.pdp10:6200 Arthur Krewat wrote: > This may have been asked many times, but anyone have specs on > an Ethernet card for a KS10? We still am looking for specs about DEUNA/DEQNA adaptor for our emulators. I have a scanned DEQNA user manual, which has a little bit of programming information in it. I don't have any place to stash it on the web right now, but could ZIP it up and email it to you. It was scanned in using a strange scanner (which I have since replaced), into compressed tiff files. For some reason I can only view these images under Linux. Under Windows they appear to be black with grey at the edges. Stored as one tiff file per page. Whole thing zipped is about 11 meg. I believe I have sent this info to Bob Supnik on a CD-ROM of assorted manuals a few months back. > Also, I finally learned about NEXUS slots for VAX emulator so that I now > am implementing I/O routines on my VAX emulator with my existing MBA > routines.
