'geek' as in the circus freak that bites the heads off chickens. From reading the follow-ups, you'd be hard pressed to come up with a deci-clue from the lot of them. I imagine a bunch of tatooed, clove cigarette smoking, pierced Linux html 'programmers' sitting around contemplating their (pierced) navels when reading their replies. ###### From: aek@spies.com (Al Kossow) Newsgroups: alt.sys.pdp10 Subject: Re: We make it to slashdot!!!!!! Geez Al, you make me look tolerant! Great graphic came to mind as reading your note. I believe you might be exactly on the money, but I can't guess at a median age for the posters. bob ###### From: "Zane H. Healy" Subject: Re: We make it to slashdot!!!!!! My guess is College kids and younger. There are a lot of us professionals that read Slashdot, but how many of us these days actually post or do more than look at the front page in most cases? It used to be worth looking at the messages, but those days are long gone. Personally I view Slashdot as a depressing commentary on our society (mind you I normally hit it at least once a day because they do have cool links). However, when I do read stuff there, more and more I get the urge to move to some remote location and become a basket weaver. There's such a big "thread" of people talking about it in a puzzled way that I just now added a warning paragraph at the beginning.
