Well, here's what's up with that. There is often a sentinel (and evil sentinel) placed at the threshold of a new projector. the threshold here is obviously the place between the conscious material world, and the real-time astral realm. This sentinel has the job of trying to scare you back into your body (think Scooby Do: Go Back! Or you're dooooomed!) Don't be afraid. I know that sounds easier said than done, but there is the good reason for all of this and I think you'll like this: The astral realm has negative entities that are very real. But they are typically not very powerful. Their strength lies in secrecy, deception, and manipulation of circumstances. Like trying to manipulate a new projector such as yourself. Why? Because you, a living soul, have a vast source of power: your physical body. Think of it like a nuclear power plant that your astral body is connected to. When in the astral environment, all you have to do is call upon your supply of energy and you have it at the ready to - form bolts of lightning, lasers, what have you. Your typical run of the mill negative entitie (neg) can't hold a candle to you in open battle. Imagine if you will, that someone you know (your own family perhaps) is having a problem with psychic disturbances in their home. The kids are having night frights, and no one is getting rest. Tension is building. A seasoned projector could go into that home out-of-body and most likely discover that there are some negative entities working their evils on the household. That projector could then confront these negs and quickly send them on their way. Truthfully, these buggers would run like scared rats at the first Boo! from a living projector!! So, logically enough, if they can keep anyone from evolving to that level by keeping them hemmed in with fear of the unknown, they can keep on doing what they do. They know full well that once you evolve to master the conscious exit into their world, their game is done. So fight onward, brave souls! Go kick some negative ass!! I agree, there are many teachers out there, whether one can see them or not, to help us while we are on the earth plane. Some of them may be giving us lessons on fear in order to know how to cope with it so that we can go on in our advancement. We must also keep in mind that we are a Creator, because we are part of the Creator; therefore we can create things with our mind. Many people, because they were brought up iin the Christian faith, have fears of hell and damnation or devils; so when they leave the body they may experience something like that because they've already created it. When one practices leaving the body at will he or she shoudl surround themselves with love and remember that we are all part of that spark of love. We were all created together and we must find our way back to the Father, or Godhead, or whatever one believes. Along the path to do this we may encounter many things, but all energy is positive and it's our choice whether we use it for good or evil. Enough said! Anyway I am a teacher of out of body trave. When I re-started practicing OBEs at the start of this year, I did get a bit nervous when I was beginning to separate. But I have managed to 'will' myself to have no fear or nervousness. I realise that that nothing can hurt you, and that you don't ever die. But sometimes I still get these wretched thoughts and images popping into my head of negative things just as I'm about to start separating. They seem to fixate in your mind, and you end up ruining your astral projection attempt. For example, I get the horrible image of the eBay Haunted Painting (see http://www.surfingtheapocalypse.com/haunted_painting.html about this) [WARNING - it might affect you*] going in my mind, and I try and think "I'm not afraid. Nothing can hurt me. (etc)" - that helps somewhat, but for some reason the fear still remains to a degree. Perhaps the negative entites are putting these thoughts in your mind just as you drift on the borderline. And terms like 'dweller' don't help much in dispelling the fear! I find that listening to some gentle music or a brainwave CD help put your mind off the negative thoughts though. Yes, let's kick them annoying asses back to where they belong. Thought-create your own sword or super gun or something when you get out and then show 'em!! * If anyone knows someone who is psychically sensititve, could they please ask them to check this out, to see what they think. I don't know how much is ploy, but I do feel something when looking at that painting myself (I am slightly psi-sensitive). A good indication of this is the buyers "no big deal" attitude. In the case of this painting, IMHO it's what you make of it.
