And since I'm a newbie and I don't know anyone here, I am curious to know what are your intentions of wanting/needing to have these OBEs. Is it spiritual related, Ph.D related, curious related, etc. Why do you want to have an OBE? My reason for having OBEs is closely linked to my spiritual journey. After a few years of gaining some understanding and meaning of my life through experiencing many wonderful synchroncities, epiphanies, and serendipities, I came to a plateau where I felt I was ready for the next level of my spiritual progression. I felt that something important was going to happen to me very soon. A few weeks later, I had my first real OBE but didn't realize it was an OBE and thought it was rather a strange dream in which I was fully awake seeing a transparent x-ray like figure coming out of me while feeling lifted along with the vibrations and the paralysis. Since then, I've been getting some kind of an OBE symptom once a month either partial, vibrationals, paralysis, or full blown. This has been a turning point in my life and an extremely important quantum leap in my life. If your intentions of having OBEs are spiritually related, I would like to know how having OBEs have helped you in your spiritual progression? In fact, they terrified me. I later encouraged them because I was tired of being scared of them and wanted to find out what they would be like if I just stopped panicking like a nut. After some experimentation I decided that they were nothing worse than a particular means of conscious entry into the lucid dream state and put them to use by creating an entertaining customized version of my neighborhood that I could access in OBEs, false awakenings, and other kinds of lucid dreams, which featured a continuing soap opera storyline starring celebrities I found attractive. They scared me very much then as they usually do now. Some consider typical LD's a form of OOBE. I don't kow that OBE has helped me personally get closer to any kind of enlightment other then that I should probably deal with my fears. Stick around and you'll get to see who's into what. Personally, it seems that you can get out of it what you want, and I have no doubts that oobe can be an invaluable tool for spiritual progression. My own experience is limited, but there are some very experienced oobers with lots to share. I am one of the very lucky ones to know who they are, but unfortunately they died some time ago, so obviously I can only visit them via OBE's. Also, to meld spiritually with my twin flame (also known as Astral Sex, Soul Fusion etc.). Such a pure and beautiful experience would not be possible in the physical realm. I also want to visit the past via astral time travel, not excluding the possibility of trying to change the it! Also, I want to change factors in the material world that could only be changed by OBEs. But the combined impact of many years of experiences has tended to give me a more spiritual bent.
