And here is something that would be fun: If you could float out yourself, you might want to look in the mirror to see what your spirit looks like. Some people think their inner selves look scary, and the structure of the inner self (or the spirit) has fangs, claws, slanted eyes, covered in black, or something. It might look similar to certain animals, or even some wierd creatures from video games. I just think it is interesting and I might know what it means if your inner spirit/soul (whatever) looks a certain way. ###### From: Haunter@castles.com (Haunter) Newsgroups: alt.out-of-body Subject: Re: float out of yourself Date: Wed, 19 Jul 2000 01:24:57 GMT Organization: A.S.I./Psi -App/WCS Lines: 31 Message-ID: <399002db.77756829@cnews.newsguy.com> References: <3974fb4d$1@rsl2.rslnet.net> NNTP-Posting-Host: p-079.newsdawg.com Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Newsreader: Forte Agent 1.5/32.452 Path: chonsp.franklin.ch!pfaff.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!newsfeed-zh.ip-plus.net!news.ip-plus.net!News.Amsterdam.UnisourceCS!skynet.be!newsfeed.stanford.edu!pln-w!spln!dex!extra.newsguy.com!newsp.newsguy.com!enews1 Xref: chonsp.franklin.ch alt.out-of-body:47617 On Tue, 18 Jul 2000 17:41:32 -0700, "The Killer" wrote: >Who is able to float out of themselves? > >And here is something that would be fun: If you could float out yourself, >you might want to look in the mirror to see what your spirit looks like. >Some people think their inner selves look scary, and the structure of the >inner self (or the spirit) has fangs, claws, slanted eyes, covered in black, >or something. Some research would also generally agree with your comment about what you see is a reflection of how you see yourself in RL. Our friend the DreamQueen (Janice) has had some cool experiences with mirrors in OBEs; perhaps she'll come proceeding in regally and lay some wisdom on us. Our friend the > DreamQueen (Janice) has had some cool experiences with mirrors in > OBEs; perhaps she'll come proceeding in regally and lay some wisdom on > us. Anyone else do the mirror-thingy? Yes, I made a something of a hobby of checking myself out in mirrors in OBEs/LDs upon a time. I wouldn't go so far as to say they necessarily how you what you really think of yourself, though, because they showed me in such a variety of guises, and I'm not *that* flighty. :) I've seen myself in a Smurf t-shirt, and in a Bugs Bunny nightshirt, for instance. Anyway, it's fun to look into a mirror for a while and watch how well or poorly it replicates your movements. One time when I was doing this the image would copy them, then stop with a puzzled look. :) You can even go through the mirror and meet your image or pull your image out of the mirror as a separate character, though I wasn't too good at that, unlike a friend of mine. Another fun mirror trick is to watch the image change into diverse people, and even will it to do so (I've been known to demand such things as "Show me as a man!" and "Show me as a cat!"). ###### Reply-To: "Toefur Boggle" From: "Toefur Boggle" Newsgroups: alt.out-of-body References: <3974fb4d$1@rsl2.rslnet.net> <399002db.77756829@cnews.newsguy.com> <397549A6.22A0@not-here.net> Subject: Re: float out of yourself Lines: 18 X-Priority: 3 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 5.00.2615.200 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V5.00.2615.200 Message-ID: Date: Wed, 19 Jul 2000 21:53:12 +1000 NNTP-Posting-Host: 203.32.26.154 X-Complaints-To: abuse@telstra.net X-Trace: vic.nntp.telstra.net 964007264 203.32.26.154 (Wed, 19 Jul 2000 21:47:44 EST) NNTP-Posting-Date: Wed, 19 Jul 2000 21:47:44 EST Organization: Customer of Telstra Big Pond Direct Path: chonsp.franklin.ch!pfaff.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!news-ge.switch.ch!isdnet!howland.erols.net!news.maxwell.syr.edu!intgwpad.nntp.telstra.net!vic.nntp.telstra.net!not-for-mail Xref: chonsp.franklin.ch alt.out-of-body:47630 Yes, I made a something of a hobby of checking myself out in mirrors in > OBEs/LDs upon a time.
