What's really going on around here? I don't consider myself a "gullible" person, but at the same time issues such as this make me wonder as, I guess, they're supposed to do. However, the most disturbing thing about something like that is that I can never really truly know without a doubt unless I see for myself the proof of such a thing. Yeah, the world's changing, but as far as I can tell it's no different than any other change the world's been through. I mean, yeah, it means that things will be DIFFERENT, but think... we've gone through this so many times before. What's so different now? Change is inevitable. I believe that we're converting back to a more "faith" oriented society. We've been so caught up with our physical advancements that we've forgotten to listen to our hearts. We hate each other!!! Is that so hard to see? When I'm out running errands and I look someone in the eyes they frown, or look away. Why? Why can I walk by someone in the hall and not get a hello or even a smile? What the fucking hell is wrong with us? Are we really that heartless? Don't get me wrong, there are lot's of people out there that will smile and say hello, but most will not. My friends seem to think that I have a negative attitude towards the world. Well, I do, but I think that they confuse this with a negative attitude towards life in general. I feel quite confident in saying that I should know myself the best on this matter. I love life! I actually love this world, when I don't have to literally shake everyone around me just to wake them up. No, other than the constant reminder that we're not as close as I imagined we might be by now, life has plenty of wonderful suprises and plenty of wonderful constants as well. I think that I expected for everyone else to get over the bullshit as I did. If you've already figured this out then I'm not talking to you, but if your answer to what I'm about to say is "Nuh uh! I'm the coolest" well, then go out and find a nice intelligent person and ask them to hit you in the head with a 2x4. Here goes: Hey guess what? There's no such thing as being better than anyone else! There's no such thing as being cooler than anyone else! The only thing there is to attribute to this is you. You and your opinion create this reality for yourself and possibly countless others. So, fucking get over yourself!!! Say hello to the next stranger you see, and ask how they're doing, and really try to feel this. You must understand that you've only been this way because it seems to be the prevailing attitude in our world at the moment. It's not real though!!! IT'S NOT REAL!!! It's just an idea. But now, try to think about what you were like when you were much younger. Let's say around 1st grade :-) (if you went to school in the US) Did you hate everyone? or were you curious? Now don't try to say "well, I don't remember", or "I was a bad kid", or "blah blah bullshit blah". Don't worry about trying to convince me :-) If you want this world to be more friendly and to possibly change for the BETTER, then we're all going to have to rememeber that time that we ALL went through in our earlier lives in which we cared enough to be curious about everyone and everything. We all care at the deepest level. Think about your family. Or, think about that one person you can remember actually really being curious about. It's not hard. It's not incredibly easy either, but let's stop being a bunch of lazy heartless bastards ok? trust me... I'm not naive enough to think that this one letter is going to change much. Actually, I could imagine that many will read this and absolutely nothing will change about them. But it's making me feel a little better :-) Now, some say that there is an alien force among us. That we could possibly already be under control of this force, which I find not too incredibly hard to believe, but I'm not convinced. But it makes you think doesn't it? It makes me think "shit, we're in trouble, because we don't give a fuck about anyone but ourselves and these aliens, if they are as advanced as they should be if they've made it here from a distant galaxy or star for that matter would most likely be very very very unified" hehehee.... you think they give a flying fuck about your mansion or porsche? Do you think they give a donkey shit about your ego? No, they want your water and land maybe. They want a better chance to survive. These are important issues, not what fucking color purse you're going to get at the mall next week. Sorry, I'm just upset. and I don't have a problem with our leisurely pursuits, but people these things must come later. We must unite damnit!!! Ok, now that I sound like a raving luny I'm going to go. I'm sorry for all the bad words and I hope that I haven't ruined my message. Please listen to your hearts. Get in touch with an old friend. Sometimes I forget that my life can have an effect on even my hopes for the world, if you know what I mean. my interests have always seemed to linger around questions of being... existence I guess. Up until recently I hadn't even considered whether not others concerned themselves with such things. Wait, sorry to interupt, but while i'm thinking about it... Al, you're right about the f word, but only in that it can harm the message's "ability" to be understood or at least acknowledged. And if I've offended you, I'm sorry, and I really truly mean it. But it's obviously a word, and we've learned to use it quite proficiently as a culture :-) you should download the .wav file if you ever come across it. (funny) Anyway, as I was saying... I feel that not really knowing that others around me have been concerned about such ideas or notions has left me feeling sort of alone, and the result can sometimes lead to out right negativism. But it's confusing because I realize my soulful nature. I realize that I love, and want to love more than anything. But the people that I see during the day do not look at me this way. I do not see this in their eyes, but this does not mean that I believe that they don't want to show it themselves! I hope you understand my meaning here, because this has somewhat incredible implications in my mind. Maybe I can explain: If you have a family, and you love them so incredibly that even the thought of one of them can bring a tear to your eyes, and then imagine this as being the way you feel about the guy behind the cash register, or the girl directing traffic at an intersection, or :-) even harder to understand: the guy that just killed your daughter. Can you understand feeling this way about everyone? What a change to the world, and what an easy thing for you to do... The problem is in how do you deal with the things that try to harm you? First of all, arm they really trying to harm you? If not, then do you really understand that they are not trying to harm you and can you live peacefully with this solution? If not, then why? Does it mean that your survival is threatened? If not, then why else would you feel that you deserve? Does this seem like greed? Does it still seem hard to feel better about it? Yes. But does not feeling good feel good? How would you feel if you had to prosecute a murderer and eventually hope to decree his death? I know that's the extreme. too far for some, but it's there ;-) I'm very passionate about this. I can't really do anything except try myself to live such a life, and hopefully talk to others about it, and hear their opinion's. It's not a religion. It's just my way :-) michael causey ###### From: "Arlo" Newsgroups: alt.out-of-body References: Subject: Re: New World Order Lines: 20 X-Priority: 3 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 5.00.2919.6600 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V5.00.2919.6600 Message-ID: <_wyG4.126955$Hq3.3156310@news2.rdc1.on.home.com> Date: Wed, 05 Apr 2000 03:36:26 GMT NNTP-Posting-Host: 24.112.184.107 X-Complaints-To: abuse@home.net X-Trace: news2.rdc1.on.home.com 954905786 24.112.184.107 (Tue, 04 Apr 2000 20:36:26 PDT) NNTP-Posting-Date: Tue, 04 Apr 2000 20:36:26 PDT Organization: @Home Network Canada Path: chonsp.franklin.ch!pfaff.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!news-ge.switch.ch!news.maxwell.syr.edu!newshub2.home.com!news.home.com!news2.rdc1.on.home.com.POSTED!not-for-mail Xref: chonsp.franklin.ch alt.out-of-body:37377 "Michael Causey" : > When I'm out running errands and I look someone in the eyes they frown, or > look away. I was at the grocery store and some woman was looking vaguely baffled and confused at the array of soymilks spread out in front of her, tentitively reaching out for one, then pulling back. As I picked up the kind I always got I recommended it to her. She looked absolutely shocked that I had spoken to her. It's happened a lot of times. Some understood what I was saying :-) Exactly the kind of example that I'm trying my best to describe. It's like we view each other as a threat at all times, and yes the danger is there!!! But you know why the danger is there? Because we do not trust each other. I'm a firm believer in what I'm about to say, which means that... well, that's what it means :-p Don't get me wrong and think that I feel that the world is getting worse than it's ever been, because this is not my message at all. What I believe is that the world has pretty much stayed consistent, but now we're much more close physically. Communication has improved to incredible all time highs, so therefore we know more about ourselves and each other. This is why we hear so much bad stuff. This is why it seems that there's always something bad going on around the world, but does this mean that it's new to our kind? Geez, if you believe that then you've obviously been sheltered. No, things aren't much different. Yes, we have new guns and such, but guess what... humans have not changed!!! I don't have 3 eyes as opposed to the 2 humans had several years earlier, or 12 toes or a green tongue!!! I'm still human down to the very soul! What's different then? well, just as I said... it's the "physical" closeness that's different than the past. Now, our problem is in not realizing that we have what we've been striving for over the past several centuries. Our time is the apex of this social development, but now we might miss our chance, because we've learned to blind ourselves of our nature by putting the importance IN the physical. And that's it. No hurricanes anywhere near here (I live at the north edge of an over 500km long and over 3000m high mountain range, that shields any such weather from us). Actually weather news should be available on the Net. I would be really surprised if there did not exist an web site with just weather and none of the other bad stuff. > While I want to know if there is a murderer or rapist in my area .. It's something to do, so this is why they seem to be without concern for others right? When I realized what it meant to be part of something so incredible as we are, I would think that I could walk into the grocery store and see everyone just gabbing away and laughing and crying; giving each other ideas about their dinners for the night. I would have imagined that the world would be so happy just to know that we were here, and that we really do care. In most places I've seen I've noticed that we live much closer now, but we are so distant at heart.
