This is my first "real" post here, my official delurk... I've lurked on and off for a while, and I really feel a need to converse with all of you, so I am! First, I would like to know if any of you know of techniques to induce lucid dreaming or to help it occur more frequently. It seems that this is the only way I an successfully obe, although I have many times come close through meditation. I'm getting a bit frustrated waiting for the rare occurrence of a lucid dream. As soon as I am aware that I am dreaming, I can almost immediately leave. The first thing that happens after the awareness, is a warm, white light appears above my head... it's very bright and so comfortably warm... it feels like the sun on a perfect spring day when it seems to soak into you, warming and relaxing every part of your body. I wish I could make this happen at will, this part is extremely pleasurable and I would like to stay in this state for a few hours, but I don't like to "waste" my lucid dreams. Once the light appears, all I have to do is think about leaving my body and it happens. I also find the leaving to be intensely pleasurable... something of a cross between the "butterflies" one feels while going down a hill too fast, a deep all-consuming laugh, and an orgasm (I'm not trying to be a perv, okay?) Does anyone else find the experience pleasurable, also? The first time this happened I panicked because of the aloneness and vulnerability I felt at not having flesh around me, and forced myself back in.... for a few minutes I was completely paralyzed... it was quite strange. I didn't like that feeling at all. The interesting thing was that my friend was there, and saw the whole thing. She thought she was dreaming, though. Later that day she told me of this strange dream she had that I was floating up by the ceiling, and when she looked over to where I was sleeping my body was there, but looked like a marble statue covered with a strange grey dust. Then she saw me fall off the ceiling and the marble and dust slowly dissolved. She got a little freaked when I told her it wasn't a dream... lol Once, I obe-ed during a dream, and I saw my dream's images "super-imposed" over the "real' world. They disappeared when I became fully aware of what was happening, and realized i was floating outside of my bedroom window like a balloon on a string. Has this happened to anyone else? I have discovered that some animals can see me when I'm flitting about. There is a German Shepard that I always end up visiting on my excursions. She's quite vicious and I really enjoy taunting her, I'm just worried I'll run into her embodied and she'll recognize me. I really don't mean to tease her (and I'm not mean), it's just so much fun to do something that would normally be dangerous without worry of bodily harm... And my "dreamself" is very mischievous. I'd really like to hear if anyone has had similar experiences, and any techniques or advice that could help me do this more often. Partly because it's fun, and parlty so I can find out where that dog is so I don't end up there by accident and get my throat ripped out by her. Well, that it for now... sorry for writing a novel... ;) Cat @>~`~~@>~~,~^/\{;;}/\^~,~~<@~~`~<@ Quote of the month: "The sun is shining - The sun is shining. That is the Magic. The only other similarity I've had to your OBE is that 'alone' feeling. Got it bad enough that I just wanted the OBE to end immediately. Keep'm coming. Mark
