Attempt to contact others? I had an experience today... It wasn't all that intense, but it was an experience. It was kind of funny at first. I rolled out of my body - and just kept rolling, and rolling, and rolling... Then I finally told myself that was enough... :-) I knew I was out, so I didn't even bother to test it before I jumped off the balcony - with no fear or hesitation - I did not drop an inch. I usually go "splat" on the ground from 16 floors up - but not this time. I went straight out above a land with a horizon. I saw a familiar star in the sky. I really wanted to go to it but it was like I was told to leave it alone for now. I also saw a great many fireworks-type things - all red - shooting up from the ground in a circular pattern. Tiny little red stars... I dropped to the ground and started walking. I found myself in what seemed to be some kind of sales show. I passed by several booths with people giving demonstrations of their products. All of this took place within the same landscape I had originated in. There were no walls - only the ground and sky with the bright star and peculiar fireworks. At one point, a couple passed by me. I looked at them and the man made eye contact. He looked like a familiar TV star. I said, "Hey, aren't you 'Roy Rogers'?" He said "yes" and immediately approached me - dragging his female companion with him. He said a few things about himself. Then he pulled me into what seemed to be an elevator. I asked if I could help him. He said, "Yes... get me as many names and social security numbers as you can". Then he began to feel me up... I said, "You aren't Roy Rogers... Who are you?" He responded, "I'm a murderer." All this time his female "companion" just stood by - looking helpless and trapped. Knowing my OBE situation, I simply left - because that was my option. But thinking back... might there have been something I could have done to help the woman out of her situation? Shouldn't I have done something about that? It took me hours to realize that she wasn't his companion - but his victim... After being through so much - both physical and nonphysical - it seems as though I should have recognized a use for OBE before now - beyond personal growth. But here, for the first time, I've noticed that this experience was not about me - it was about somebody else who was in trouble. I didn't even see it!!! This is the type of experience that I've been looking for - and I blew it... This is the type of experience that Pio occasionally had - but he didn't ignore it as I did... Maybe I couldn't have done anything anyway... Maybe it was just a test for me. I hope so. But I just don't feel that is the case. I feel I blew a chance to help someone in a desperate situation... This is a deep lesson for me. My travels should be to help others. They should not be only for myself. Think, you are not in the physical... You can not wrestle her away and really if you know how to protect yourself the murderer can not kill you. So, what's left? This is a tough situation because it would require you to talk to both of them and convince either one to move out of the lower astral realms into the light. To protect yourself, think of yourself as a radiant sun radiating light. If the woman were truly a victim, she will be attracted to the light while the murderer will be repelled by the light. One possibility. Another is to to ask for divine light helpers to help you out so you can do it right. I would think each situation is different depending on the person you meet up with. Hey, come to think of it you just helped me answer why a physical person is required to do a soul rescue. Because if they lose, they just end up back in their bodies with a chance to try again. Whereas, if the the person on the other side loses, it's much harder for them to connect again. They're not that close to the lower astral. They must lose the location or vicinity or something. In addition with both sides working together there is little chance of losing in these encounters. The gateway is open both up and down at the same time, like a linked chain that meets in the middle at the point of soul rescue. It'll get done at some point just as a matter of time. I dont think you were meant to do anything in that moment. Your other senses were good, you knew when to stop rolling, you remembered how to fly with no thought at all.. and the fireworks? Isnt 4th of July right around the corner? You may be able to recognize this man in real life and you will already have the information about his companion, you may be able to help her with this foresight. Not all our OBE's are meant for the moment, dont kick yourself around...this could be something else. I just wanted to respond because I had a similar experience and that I made a few observations from.. I had a lucid dream (not OBE) in which I found myself standing in front of a couple who were walking together ( a man and a woman) who were tied together with a white scarf. It was somehow obvious to me that the man was an ominous, dangerous character and that somehow the female was helpless to leave him even though he presented a danger to her (what the danger was exactly, I don't know.) Oddly enough, in this dream, I was a man! (this doesn't often happen to me, and if you were wondering, I'm not!).. I took a pair of scissors and cut the scarf that was binding this couple together and looked at the woman and said "RUN!!" Anyway, we escaped and the last thing I remember was being chased and getting on trains together to escape this dangerous guy.. When I woke up this experience made a big impression on me, and I kept thinking, "who was she??" When I can't make any associations to my externals, even through writing, I try to turn it within a bit.. I thought to myself, what does this couple represent within myself? I came to a conclusion that in a few situations I was feeling rather powerless, and that perhaps this dangerous man represented a controlling aspect of my personality, and the woman represented something fragile I needed to save. (not to sound sexist or anything like that, I think my subconscious needed to come up with something to communicate this to me.) Now I'm not saying that this "Roy Rodgers" guy and the woman were not a separate entities unto themselves, but I have had the experience of my thoughts and fears being projected in the astral to create beings which I initially think do not originate from me, but later I come to the conclusion that perhaps they are..This is pure speculation, but maybe you created these characters in order to learn something? Maybe not, but even if they were lost souls, you are at least intending more now to help out in the astral... I don't think you should feel badly about how you dealt with this situation, sometimes things that happen in the astral are to confusing or overwhelming to think clearly about at the moment they happen.. You could have done, as Claire suggested, at the time HOWEVER you can still do something NOW. Imagine/pray for love/light/healing to go to both of them to the maximum extent for the highest spiritual good. Sending light to him will reduce his ability to hurt/control others. I'm curious, because you both had a >conversation. This was an astral situation. Conversations with people in this situation are usually at the emotional (astral) level. In other words - they aren't physically accurate. The astral plane is not identical to the physical. It is the emotional representation of the physical. This is not to say that it is totally imaginary - only that it holds the emotional aspects of physical consciousness. Accurate communication depends on the ability of both parties - unless one of them is very advanced or in the process of an NDE. We really should keep in mind that the "astral plane" is the "emotional consciousness". It's not just a mirror of the physical. It *IS* another realm in which to be conscious - but it is *NOT* direct access to the physical unless we have complete control over our emotions and basic drives. You can make contact with others in this state - but they will most likely not verify your contact since you only see their emotional state. Any conversation with another individual may not even be a conscious situation for the other. If you aren't in full control of your emotions and basic drives, then it is doubtful that you will have an effect on anyone else while traveling internally. If I had control of my emotions at the time, I might have had an effect on the individual. Instead, I just left - thinking only of myself. I was living abroad away from all family and friends any contact was very minimal the odd letter etc. I was unaware at the time that what I was experiencing was astral travel / obe / LD things just happened. this particular time I met my Auntie hadn't communicated for two years or so. She was screaming "help me help me" it was blood curdling I didn't know what to do I just kept saying look to the light it's OK. She flew at me and grabbed my legs I was trying to return to my body she kept on screaming and wouldn't let go I just kept saying look to the light, I couldn't get her to let go or look to the light she seemed hysterical. In the end I just kicked and kicked in my struggle to return to my body until I kicked her off. I returned with one hell of a wallop. Due to time zone differences I rung my mum a couple of hours later She was surprised to hear from me at what was my middle of the night. I asked how things were, She told me my auntie had died a couple of hours earlier and was going to ring me later. I told mum my experience, she told me my auntie died screaming and yelling. I feel really bad I didn't respond in a more spiritual way. On a good note, I have seen her since when another relative died, It was a peaceful visit and she's ok (and a lot younger).
