My question is this: How do you move just your astral arms (or whatever) when you're still inside your body. That is if I think I'm almost separate is there a way to move just my astral arms so my body won't move? I have yet to be able to conciously induce an OOBE, but have had a few dream induced. All of my dream induced are not very clear and seem to revert back to a dream state shortly after I leave. I've noticed a few new names here so I'd thought I'd ask again. ###### Message-ID: <369D6141.BD4E6793@privatei.com> From: The Original Ken Organization: As disorganized as possible X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.04 [en] (Win95; I) MIME-Version: 1.0 Newsgroups: alt.out-of-body Subject: Re: Moving the astral limbs. I'm surprised it doesn't come up more often. When you are having an OBE from the waking state, you will almost certainly go through a vibrational state or shrieking ears state just before it happens. The degree varies and is related to your awareness of it but assuming that you are aware of it what you want to do is wait until there is some stability in the vibrations or in the shrieking/rushing in the ears before you make any attempt to move out. So it's a matter of timing. If you move to soon, you will move your physical body and the vibrations will decrease. If you wait too long, then you may come out of the vibrations anyway. There is a point in between where you can move and your astral body will move instead of your physical body. To find this threshold when you are unfamiliar with it takes a little bit of experimentation. If you think the time is right but moving causes the vibrational state to drop off quickly, then back off immediately and resume the vibe state. Keep teasing like this until you seem to be able to move without noticing the vibes changing too much. You can also use your perception as a cue. If you still feel in a "strange" sort of way when you move, then you are OK, but if it seems when you move that you are "coming around", then back off. Two final notes. First it's almost impossible to tell the difference between moving a real limb and an astral limb so you won't be able to use this idea as a guide and second, be aware that the vibrational state will cease after you have moved out of your body a few inches. So don't make the mistake of sucessfully exiting but thinking you didn't just because the vibes ceased. This is some of the most excellent practical advise I've ever heard. Thanks a bunch for the tidbit. The DoggieMon -- Douglas J. Romero, MD University of Virginia Salem.-Roanoke Psychiatry Program
