I remember one time some friends were clowning around with going up into a thunderstorm. I ran into Dale the next day, and after about 30 minutes or so, I said, "Dale, I see an ass where your face usually is." I figured he'd boot me out at that point, but instead, he mentioned the storm travelling and how getting back into his body, he got confused and thought he was possibly upside down. He sat down a few minutes and straightened himself out. Shit happens. ###### From: "Rebecca Drew" Newsgroups: alt.out-of-body References: <914956195.2773.0.nnrp-12.9e988f02@news.demon.co.uk> Subject: Re: A strange feeling Lines: 28 X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 4.72.3110.1 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V4.72.3110.3 Message-ID: Date: Wed, 30 Dec 1998 11:27:22 -0500 NNTP-Posting-Host: 204.248.217.100 X-Trace: news.goodnet.com 915035182 204.248.217.100 (Wed, 30 Dec 1998 09:26:22 MDT) NNTP-Posting-Date: Wed, 30 Dec 1998 09:26:22 MDT Path: chonsp.franklin.ch!pfaff.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!newsfeed-zh.ip-plus.net!news-nyc.telia.net!newsfeed.berkeley.edu!remarQ73!supernews.com!news.winstar.net!winstar!news.good.net!news.phoenix.good.net!news.goodnet.com!not-for-mail Hi, Mike, You're incident (by the way, is it still going on?) reminds me of a book called "Collision with the Infinite" by Suzanne Segal. Here's a quote: " I shook my head a few times, hoping to rattle my consciousness back into place, but nothing happened." Basically in one instance while she was waiting for a bus, she "popped" into another state of consciousness, and was quite unprepared. She went for years thinking she was crazy and describes in detail the "loss of self." Its one very odd sensation. Has anyone else out there had anything >like this? Hi Mike, I get this sort of thing every so often. I rather like it. It is interesting, isn't it? It is the astral body partially separating from the physical. I recently had it when I had sinusitis, with a terrible drilling pain to one side of the forehead for about five days (until cured by my homeopath, hurray!). Several times, I observed that my astral head was bent forwards, thus avoiding the drilling pain coinciding with the delicate third eye chakra. This brought my consciousness about a foot in front of my forehead, as you describe. If I hadn't been preparing and organising Christmas for seven people, I could have concentrated on the sensation and perhaps 'rolled out' and achieved a full OOBE... So much to do, so little time to do it in... All best wishes, Julia. ###### From: "Mike Ross" Newsgroups: alt.out-of-body Subject: Re: A strange feeling Date: Wed, 30 Dec 1998 19:52:11 -0000 Message-ID: <915047484.14406.0.nnrp-10.9e988f02@news.demon.co.uk> References: <914956195.2773.0.nnrp-12.9e988f02@news.demon.co.uk> <915037642.6560.0.nnrp-05.9e988f02@news.demon.co.uk> NNTP-Posting-Host: speck.demon.co.uk X-NNTP-Posting-Host: speck.demon.co.uk:158.152.143.2 X-Trace: news.demon.co.uk 915047484 nnrp-10:14406 NO-IDENT speck.demon.co.uk:158.152.143.2 X-Complaints-To: abuse@demon.net X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 4.72.2106.4 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V4.72.2106.4 Lines: 48 Path: chonsp.franklin.ch!pfaff.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!newsfeed-zh.ip-plus.net!news-nyc.telia.net!feeder.qis.net!btnet-peer!btnet!dispose.news.demon.net!demon!news.demon.co.uk!demon!speck.demon.co.uk!not-for-mail I just want to add something more to this. I think I have had this experience, though in a lesser sense (only about an inch away and not a foot), many times before. It is usually during this time that the more subtle energies (eg auras etc) become easily visible to me. It is also usually occurs when I am just about to have a headache (I can feel it starting) and I think my body has found a way of counteracting these headaches (which I used to suffer a lot from). What do you think?, is this plausible? You will then find that your external bodies will then return into the physical shell correctly. You can then wake up "as normal". If that doesn't work and/or you want to be more sure that it does then you should ask your spirit guides of the light to assist you while you nap. I had a similar experience when my husband and I were in Vienna, we live in Australia. We were walking along about to cross a railway line and suddenly I could not take another step, it was like I had hit a brick wall, but it was in the open, then I semed to separate for a short time, like my spirit left my body, then I felt really sick. It took awhile for me to feel all together again, when I mentioned this to my husband, the greatest cynic of all time, he said that someone we had travelled with a couple of years before had told him the same thing happened to him on a regular basis.
