I've been monitoring this newsgroup for about a month trying to add to my knowledge of out of body experiences. Thanks for some excellent thoughts on the subject. Five years ago my girlfriend and I rented a 19th century house; it turned out to be haunted. It took us a whole of three months before we moved out - still under the lease. There is no doubt about the haunting, since it was experienced by many individuals - previous tennants, friends and relatives. When we moved the ghosts had made some type of psycic connection with us and continued to haunt us terribly; this made us examine our spiritual conciousness, trying to understand and deal with the situation. We have since moved three times, and still get occassional visits from - I believe - the same spirits. Over the last years I have experienced many out of body experiences catalysed by the presences in our home(s). These usually begin with a beconning call in a soft voice speaking my name (my girlfriend's experiences are very similar); then I realize I am out of my body and floating around in my bedroom. Sometimes I feel the presence of another entity, usually in the form of someone I know; however, there is a form that has become what we believe to be the 'real' identity of the two spirits that perist in our lives. Over the past years my immense terror has been tamed to a point of mild fear and curiosity. I still get afraid at the experience of being out of my body, mainly because I do not trust these spirits that instigate the experience. When haunted, one awakens terrified to the point of speechlessness and can feel your aura and energy drained, usually from the heart chakra, sometimes the solarplexus chakra. I have done much research on these issues and still find them beyond my understanding. One good book I have read that put many things in perspective was 'A World Beyond' by Arthur Ford, written through Ruth Montgomery. I would recommend this book the Sterno@bigbrother.net, and anyone else who contemplates the afterlife. I don't know if this contributed anything to your group; I hope so. I will keep reading the postings whenever I can. I look after my father in law who needs our constant aid, so I am always pressed for time. If anyone wants to discuss things or has any questions about my experience, I can be reached at mdm@istar.com . Thankyou for reading. ###### From: "Richard" Newsgroups: alt.out-of-body Subject: Re: Ghosts and how they influence out of body experiences. Without a further description of what exactly you experienced, how did you know it was a haunting experience? What did the "ghost" do to cause the OOBE? and describe what you felt during this? From an early age I was assaulted by then unwanted vibrations. . . sleep paralysis. . . and visions /memories of seeing entities that my physical senses told me just could not be. I too have gotten over the fear of this over time. . . and with the help of the entities. Now many years later the OOB experience is a very tightly woven part of what and who I am. I am still generally aware of the beings who seem to be "out" there. Although I have felt intimidated by them at times. . . in general I know they are there to help me. And I have grown to feel that in the beginning "they" were so persistent and obnoxious because I was fighting and trying to ignore them. Once I decided to explore what was happening, it became a much more enjoyable experience. -- RBWalton Visit this web page for some useful OOB links. . . www.angelfire.com/ca/onestepbeyond/ To respond, delete #nospam# rbwalton@#nospam#outrageous.net Mystica wrote in message ... >Hello everyone, > >My name is Michael; I'm a biochemist, living in Ottawa.
