In fact, there is a chapter titled 'Sweet Sleep' Quiet Crucifixion. "Sweet Sleep" seems to compare to a certain level of meditation. If you'll note, in the article, he also mentions that his heart was pounding very hard - sound familiar? He mentions this in several letters. I wonder if we are missing something about this state. Because, when this happens to me, I usually give up as a failed attempt at OBE. Yet he continued. Considering his spiritual strength in comparison to mine... I'm not sure I could handle the physical and spiritual abuse as well as he did. But maybe that is not necessary in order to go farther. But, then again, maybe it is... He mentions August the 5th. 8/5/18 was the day he received the first invisible wound. He saw that person (internally) throw a, "very long sharp pointed blade which seemed to emit fire," into him. Release of Kundalini? Therese of Lisieux had a very similar experience, "That cherubim held in his hand a long golden arrow and on its point there seemed to be fire. This being stabbed her several times. Both of them describe that the weapon was plunged so deep that even their "entrails" were severely affected. Pio goes on to describe, "There is a continual rumbling within me like the gushing of blood." They both mention a constant internal burning. I wonder if that has something to do with the flow of Kundalini beginning to stabilize and be come constant... There are cases which were documented by physicians in which he was witnessed to have reached body temperatures as high as 127 degrees Fahrenheit. Sounds like Kundalini to me. During at least one of these high temperature episodes, it is reported that he was seen elsewhere while he was also seen lying in bed at the monastary. Pio is up for canonization. If and when this happens, I hear that his private letters will be released to the public. I'm expecting there to be some very interesting stories of bilocation in those letters. Thanks for taking an interest in Pio. I've been blabbing about this guy for the last 3 years and very few people have picked up on him. The web sites are quick and simple - but the books give more interesting stories and comparisons. It is quite possible that it is related to Kundalini, but I really wouldn't know as I don't know a lot about Kundalini. I read an interesting book once by a guy named Gopi Krishna who apparently experienced a spontaneous awakening of Kundalini, and suffered for many years trying to come to terms with what was happening to him. His book was called "Kundalini - The Evolutionary Energy in Man" (now apparently republished under the title "Living with Kundalini". The book is an autobiographical account of what he went through, and apparently he suffered quite a bit and was unable to find anyone who had real knowledge of what was happening to him and who could help him. It is a very interesting read since it is by someone who apparently actually had true experience of what Kundalini is. His description doesn't match at all some of the popular descriptions of what Kundalini is supposed to be like. There is some information about Gopi Krishna at: http://web.stn.net/icr >Pio is up for canonization. If and when this happens, I hear that his >private letters will be released to the public.
