One interesting thing I've noticed when I have entered these states, is a sensation of this soothing warmth coming from what I believe to be a sentient source. One time I found myself just surrounded by a glowing white light which filled me with a feeling of contentment and warmth. This past time, I could feel the sun and it really stuck out at me as being significant in some way even though it was just off in the background. When this first happened to me my immediate thought was that I had found God. As I think about it though that seems like too simple a conclusion (although not necessarily a wrong one). Anyhow, I was wondering if anybody else had had similar experiences and what conclusions you've drawn from them. Sounds like some great experiences! I have definitley felt 'a presence' (or more than one) during several of my OBE's. I tend to view them as my overseeers or just passers by and believe that accessing 'the source of creation' would require some serious transcension/travelling... but that's just my opinion. :-) Everything I have encountered has radiated warmth, understanding and strong Love, maybe they are all God... I have yet to experience anything negative at all in the non-physical but there are some at this NG who have some intersting stories concerning their travels in realms which are incomprehensible to me at this point.. (being a newbie) I'm sure many of these kind veterens will respond to your interesting words. I don't really believe in a single omnipotent being called God, or at least not in the traditional Judeo Christian sense. I don't believe that there exists anywhere in this Universe a perfect being with ultimate power over all existance. There may be some being that created us and who asserts some power over us, but I don't believe that this being would be an ultimate power in the Universe (just significantly more powerful than us). I've come up with an explanation of the Mutliverse which I think includes lots of flexibility for such phenomena as OBE's, etc. My belief is that we are all fragments of one conciousness. Back billions of years ago just before the big bang, there was a moment in time that is so infinitely small that it almost doesn't exist. At this moment in time this one conciousness existed and asked itself what it was. At that moment, it fragmented into billions of dimensions and fragments of conciousness in an effort to discover its own meaning. There were different sized fragments of conciousness, and each fragment of this conciousness has some small understanding of the greater picture. However, because they are but tiny fragments they cannot comprehend completely the connection with the original conciousness. So each of these conciousness fragments go about and explore the Multiverse through our experiences gain some insight that adds to the collective conciousness. Eventually the Multiverse will collapse back in on itself to bring the answers back into the collective conciousness. When finally the collapse is complete the conciousness, for a brief moment will understand itself again. The catch though is that the moment of comprehension only exists for a moment and it spontatneously loses its understanding a moment later and the whole process starts over again. What's wonderful about this is that it leaves an infinite number of possibile existences for every fragment of that conciousness. In one Universe you might be a banker, in another you might be a religious leader. In yet another you might be some semi-omnipotent being (merely a larger chunk of that conciousness). I can go on from there, but this post is getting rather long so I'll just save it for a book or something :) ---Steve -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own ###### From: "Bart" Newsgroups: alt.out-of-body Subject: Re: A interesting occurrence in my LD's/OBE's Date: Sun, 8 Nov 1998 20:44:23 -0500 Organization: ICGNetcom Lines: 24 Message-ID: <725hlf$sds@sjx-ixn9.ix.netcom.com> References: <7230p4$8nb$1@nnrp1.dejanews.com> <36454A1E.38B54D39@earthlink.nXXXet> <724qvk$jvm$1@nnrp1.dejanews.com> NNTP-Posting-Host: clv-oh41-53.ix.netcom.com X-NETCOM-Date: Sun Nov 08 5:48:31 PM PST 1998 X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 4.72.3110.1 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V4.72.3110.3 Path: chonsp.franklin.ch!pfaff.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!news.belnet.be!news-raspail.gip.net!news-peer.gip.net!news.gsl.net!gip.net!ix.netcom.com!news sterno@bigbrother.net wrote in message <724qvk$jvm$1@nnrp1.dejanews.com>... >I've come up with an explanation of the Mutliverse which I think includes lots >of flexibility for such phenomena as OBE's, etc. My belief is that we are all >fragments of one conciousness. The easiest way I've found to describe this situation is that "we are all God looking at Itself from every possible point of view." Bart
