The annual thermostat fight has begun between my husband and myself!! Being the *delicate flower* that I am, I seem to be always cold (especially at night). I prefer to sleep in a room slightly warm while my husband prefers to sleep in a room the temperature of an arctic snow blast!! !!!!!!!!!!!! LET'S GET READY TO RUMMMMMMMBLE !!!!!!! ;-D My question to one and all is: Do you find it *harder* to lucid dream or project when you are cold or when you are warm? (It will be interesting to see if the responses show a male verses female trend!) I find that if I go directly into a lucid dream while *sleeping* then I'll be alright. But if I wake up and am cold and then try to WILD or have an OOBE, forget about it! But fear not, for I have my trusty space heater! So in those mornings when I retreat to my "OOB couch", I will place it in a strategic (but physically safe) spot and then I'm gonna CRANK THAT SUCKER UP!! ;-) Take care, Clairity -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own ###### From: chester basshead Newsgroups: alt.dreams.lucid,alt.out-of-body Subject: Re: Room temperature -OR- Honey, I'm COLD!! I was so cold I got out of my body and went to the thermostat and flipped the switch to off - (the air conditioner was on) I supposedly showed my daughter how to turn it off while there. Later, I realized the cooler was still going, so I got up for real and checked the switch and it was on the off position. So I actually turned the switch off but for some reason the cooler was still going. Decided the cold kept me from deep sleep and it was early morning so I was in more of a state to have an OOBE. Well, *this* female is HOT natured. *g* I love heat, but when I go "night-night" I like cold. I like it REAL cold. My boyfriend and I fight over this because he's cold-natured.. but if we get enough covers over him, he'll shut up. *g* I usually wake up outside the covers altogether.. except recently (he hasn't turned on his heater yet this year) when I actually found myself snuggling up to him one morning. Go figure! =P As for OOBEs, I wouldn't know, but I do know that when I had mine (the only one thus far) I was under my blanket on my bed... I had the fan on but the room had a humidity to it.. Yeah, I wondered about that type of thing. When I sleep in my bed, the electrical outlet is less than 6 inches from my head. I don't sleep in my bed much, though.. my room's a mess.. I usually take the couch, or like last night, I slept in my mom's bed (she's at her boyfriend's house all the time now). But I do wonder about having OOBEs in my room.. That's a really interesting point... :) Acutally, being male, I tend to get a fan next to the bed, and point it at me while I sleep. I tend to sleep better this way, have deeper Dreams, with more intuitive depth, and exploration (I tend to this kind of Lucid, if that's still what it's called, not cerebrally controlling it with a kind of waking mind, but flowing with it with intuitive control over the direction, I tend to get more satisfying results this way... Anyway, what was I talkin' 'bout?.... Oh yeah!.. ), but I have better luck with them when I'm cold, and curled up snugly in my blanket. When I'm not cold enough to need the blanket, I have trouble sleepin', and I also have simple little random Dreams, not even anything with much depth, their just strange, like the kinda Dream you get from eating to much ("You're just a spoiled bit of potatoe I had for dinner!... You're not REALLL!!!" ;). I've always been like that I guess... I like to have my arms out of the covers when I try to go oob, so if its cool, my arms get cold and that distracts me. I usually turn down the heat right before getting into bed, so that the temperature is still comfortable while I'm relaxing. And by the time I roll over to go to sleep, its getting cooler :-) Fortunately, my husband and I agree on the room temperature at night!
