I don't know how many of you had the opportunity to watch ABC and John Stossel tonight. The entire show was dedicated to psychic abilities, well in their eyes no abilities but hoax. He even attacked near death experiences as being hallucinations! I nearly came unglued. I would not have been so upset if he had balanced the show out with people who possess true abilities with those who don't, but he didn't. We are invited to send him an email with any comments and I don't think my comments would be well received. It would say something like, the only reason I even visited ABC instead of NBC is because of the baseball series and I wasn't interested in it, so I thought I would try out ABC for a night, and look what I get, closed minded idiots that don't know the first thing about truth and reality, as if their reality is the only own that is right! I was so insulted that I probably will not return to ABC, not that I really ever watched it anyway. OK OK . . . so I might be a little touchy :) Did anyone else see the show? I doubt science will ever outright embrace any of this as being true. Science is set up to measure things. Physical things can be measured. Not only that, if you go out of the room and come back later you can re-measure and get the same result. The problem with out of body stuff is that there is no way it can be measured in a way that consistent results happen. I might have a few experiences where I find out something about my target person that I did not know before. For me that may be good enough proof. But it will never be enough for the scientific community because I can not consistently get to the target and get a specific bit of information. (Maybe some can. . . Not me) I can also tell you that it is not real likely I would believe any of this was true and real unless it had been happening to me most of my life. Because it has happened to me so long, I have developed a way of thinking about life that has changed my outlook on life. It did not require me proving the experience was real to anyone in order for that change to happen. It is just something that happens to you when these experiences happen. You new people out there. . . Are you sure you want to know how to do this? It will change you for life. I think it is a good change. There will always be those who will treat you / us as if we are crazy for believing what you / we believe. But there are also those who will thank you for enlightening them to the possibilities. -- RBWalton Visit this web page for some useful OOB links. . . www.angelfire.com/ca/onestepbeyond/ To respond, delete #nospam# rbwalton@#nospam#outrageous.net Beth wrote in message <361AFBF5.1425AEAC@pop.slkc.uswest.net>... >I don't grip too often, but after what I have just been through, I feel >I have the right to do so. So I assume no one has yet told you this: If you post messages in HTML (as the WebTV and most Web browsers do as default) some people get to see an mess like above betweent the ------ (such as I) and some even get absolutely nothing (such as Bob). Please find the option to turn this off and post in ASCII (sometimes called "text only" or "plain text" or similar). Then we will all be able to read what you are saying. -- *** New home Addresses Mail and Web *** home: neil@franklin.ch.remove http://neil.franklin.ch/ work: franklin@arch.ethz.ch.remove http://caad.arch.ethz.ch/~franklin/ Microsoft is Software Communism, Fight for GNU Freedom! ###### From: "Lee W" Newsgroups: alt.out-of-body Subject: Re: TV's slam on us . . .
