It was excellent! I would have liked to have taken some artistic license and rewrote some of the parts to what I felt were knowns for me. Like the part where Robin Williams is trying to fly across a gorge and plummets to the ground, I would have turned him into a pinpoint of light, moving at such a fierce velocity that he was stunned by going too fast. But, then again, that might not have been as funny. Hi my friend! I thought I was going to be the first one to report on this movie. Everyone on the NG should go see it. If you can separate the dark side of the movie which is a small part of it, it is like experiencing true OOBE's. They really depicted much of what we discuss and much of what I have personally experienced in such a wonderful way. The movie actually gave me the opportunity I needed to lead into a great discussion with the person I went to the movie with. Then today he told me that I had visited him in his dream he had last night and put my hands on his chest and stomach and reached into his soul and learned everything about him. I was blown away by this one because I had remembered doing this but didn't dare go there with the discussion, we hadn't talked about OOBE's and such yet, so I didn't want to scare him off just yet. About a week ago I had been gently caressing his chest, trying to desserts him a bit. After a while he looked at me with a surprised look on his face and said "do you feel that? Do you feel that energy coming from your hands? It is flowing from your hands into me." At this time he had no idea what I have done or what I have been doing, he knew nothing. I was glad to hear validation from someone other than my other friend who normally validates experiences. This came from someone who could not have possibly known what I was doing. Well Jan, I guess we were in sync this weekend :) Beth ###### Message-ID: <361869F4.CFA8350C@pop.slkc.uswest.net> Date: Sun, 04 Oct 1998 23:40:53 -0700 From: Beth Reply-To: oberoberts@uswest.net X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.04 [en] (Win95; U) MIME-Version: 1.0 Newsgroups: alt.out-of-body Subject: Re: What Dreams May Come References: <36175410.717CFD1C@spiritone.com> <36183A2E.9ED8A2A6@pop.slkc.uswest.net> <361836EF.685D0185@spiritone.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit NNTP-Posting-Host: 207.224.204.79 X-Trace: 5 Oct 1998 00:39:45 +0500, 207.224.204.79 Lines: 15 X-Report: Report abuse to abuse@uswest.net. I saw it earlier this week and found it barely worth the $4.75 (matinee) price I paid. I give it points for attempting to portray the oobe/nde experience though, and it did make me cry in parts. I thought the scenes of her in the hospital (when she wore the green robe) were the best acted, best dialog parts. In general though, I just found the characters a little too perfect, and their tragedy a little too staged, to seem believable. Their lives and memories were just too rosy to feel real. If you've seen the 1987 movie "Made in Heaven" then you'll recognize where the screenplay came from. And if you saw Enya's "Carribean Moon" video you'll recognize where they got the special effects from. My recommendation: Wait for the video. Armed with a purseful of kleenex, I went to see "What Dreams May Come" and although I didn't need the kleenex (I got just a *little* misty eyed), I came away feeling very..for lack of better word...blessed. You see, while I was sitting in that dark theater with everyone else marveling at the vivid colors, the images of people flying (and more that I won't speak of for those who haven't seen the movie) it dawned on me that I didn't have to wait for *death* to experience everything that was on the screen. I have been in fields of vivid color, I have flown alone and with others, and I have even desired to see someone and have had that person appear in front of me. I went to the movie with my husband (who thinks of my experiences as my little *hobby*) and afterward I wanted so much to explain how all this is possible if you just believe that it is, that anyone with the desire can have them too. But then he smiled that smile that he saves for me whenever I speak of lucid dreaming or OOBEs and the words sounded somehow hollow or as if I were just bragging (it's hard to explain). Once again I decided that it was more than enough that *I* know these things to be true and that I could come on the web and speak to others who know them to be true also. We who lucid dream, we who have OOBEs are indeed truely blessed.. because if the movie "What Dreams May Come" is any indication of what heaven holds, we have been given the gift of experiencing *heaven on earth*. Take care... Clarity, I agree. I personally saw the movie a few days ago, and I loved it. I have only had one OOBE, but it was brief and I didnt open my eyes....but if the clarity in my real life OOBE's is anything compared to what we saw in that movie, I cant wait to have another. It has been 8 days since I had my first OOBE, and even though I have not been able to reproduce one since that night, I have been fervently trying since then. If you ever want to email me and tell me some f your techniques that work best for you, I would greatly appreciate it. My mind is like a sponge right now, trying to soak up as much information and actual experiences from other people as I possibly can! Jeff Mash spicyjem@aol.com Need a laugh? Beautiful message. I was one of those who were crying through much of the movie. It is truly beautiful. It is helping many people understand what we experience and know inherently; that we create our own reality, and that we are all connected. I am truly sorry for you that your husband does not understand. Take heart that a time will come when he does, even if it takes until after death. You are correct that the main thing that matters for you is that You know. Take Care. Be happy. I was amazed at how well received the idea of OOBE was. It was more well received than I realized when he had fallen asleep by me and I was later awakened by him grabbing my hand and saying "let's go higher." He was asleep and only talking in his sleep. It is too bad he has no recollection of it. I would have like to have known where we were going :) Beth ###### From: Jan-Marie Newsgroups: alt.dreams.lucid,alt.out-of-body Subject: Re: What Dreams May Come (long post) Date: 20 Oct 1998 04:56:26 GMT Organization: SpiritOne Internet 503-240-8200 Lines: 29 Message-ID: <362C1371.23A1B8AD@spiritone.com> References: <15958-3622A436-1@newsd-103.iap.bryant.webtv.net> <3623CA5F.8683C0F0@Megsinet.net> Reply-To: jan_mariee@hotmail.com NNTP-Posting-Host: ridge.spiritone.com Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.04 [en] (Win95; I) X-Trace-ISP: 908859380 12012 208.130.241.31 znk7/F20122:ryyvfba X-Complaints-To-ISP: abuse@spiritone.com Path: chonsp.franklin.ch!pfaff.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!news.belnet.be!news-raspail.gip.net!news-peer.gip.net!news.gsl.net!gip.net!logbridge.uoregon.edu!pln-w!spln!extra.newsguy.com!newsp.newsguy.com!enews4 Another movie I viewed recently on late night TV, might be of interest too. I am sure it's out on video now - probably done in the 70's. It was about a woman who could go back into time by putting on a dress from the 1800's that she had found in the attic of her house that her and her husband had recently moved into. The film quality and such isn't quite up to par with the movies today, but it was very interesting. I find parts of it haunt me from time to time. The name was something like "The Double lives of Jenny Logan." Jan-Marie Guru wrote: > Hi Clairity! > > Beautiful message. I was one of those who were crying through much of the > movie.
