I'm still having a hard time understanding why this is so. To all the others out there, have you ever noticed that only certain aspects of your personality will come forward during an OBE? I can name several of mine. Many times my whole focus is on sex (and I know others here can attest to that as well) ... blindly on sex and nothing else. At other times I am simply a fact finder. In one OBE, for instance, I met up with my Mother, and my son. You'd think I would be overjoyed by seeing them. But it barely mattered to me at the time. I was more interested in memorizing details of their features for later recollection. I even went to the point of smooshing my poor son's face to see if he was real, then just walked away and left the poor kid there. Other times I can be incredibly violent, or filled with the glee of a small child. But very rarely do I encompass the entire complexity of "me" while OBE. It seems like this complexity is there, but it's just not available at all times .... or is only available via one of the parts that make up the whole me at any given time. The aspects can, and often do, change during the course of the OBE, but I never feel completely "me". The aspects can, and >often do, change during the course of the OBE, but I never feel >completely "me". > >Anyone else out there feel this way too? Yes... I'm thinking that you aren't looking for you - you are looking for satisfaction, and you find it. Or at least to a certain degree. I'm one of those folks you've discussed this with before. Sex is probably the most powerfull drive in the 'Astral Plane'. I suspect it is because the astral plane is basically an emotional portion of the consciousness. Through our discussions, you know I admit to the same traps that you've described. That's a very big hurdle to hop. I try very hard to avoid that state by remaining as passive as possible during OBE. I'm not always successful because I sometimes even get approached or attacked sexually and I will usually give in. That seems to be the way on said plane. There have been other times when I've felt completely free of these basic drives toward self satisfaction and felt more 'me' than I do in the physical - so free to be me... :-) These are my favorite - least directed OBEs. I notice every sensation and feel absolutely alive, guiltless, and have no desire to do anything but express love and note how it operates within me and flows through me. It's then when I feel that I've accomplished what I've actually set out to do by going OBE. It's then when I feel that OBE has a purpose and that I may actually be able to help someone at a distance who really needs help. Someone who may not even know me. It's then when I realize that maybe the personal desire to go OBE is so incredibly selfish when compared to what should be done during these special events that I've been permitted to experience. As I grow with these experiences, I'm beginning to learn that there is more than just self gratification. I've known this all along, but it is gradually beginning to hit home. So much garbage to wade through... Hopeless situtions happen to people. I'm beginning to wonder if I might be able to help these people in 'hopeless' situations via an 'impossible' ability I've come to know. Some day, maybe - provided I can overcome my draw toward the one-dimensional aspect that you speak of. I'm thinking that if I just continue to travel, without any direction but that of spreading love and seeking light, then I will find, automatically, what I am looking for. It's so simple - but also incredibly difficult considering all the stuff that is inside of me... They may not be interested in which case you can try all you want and still get no where. So, if someone tries very hard with you but you have other "goals" in mind then it will do them little good to "attack" you sexually. It's not a question of whether we are sexual beings or not. Of course, we all are! It's a matter of what your goal is for that session. If you have trouble with maintaining the goal than pray for help, but only if you are sincere. We all go through > >the same things eventually, I think. > > Have you ever gone through, or experienced, anything like this at all > Claire? > Well, recently someone came to my house in the form of a giant Panda. It was pretty funny! They were like playing peek-a-boo with this amazing form of a giant panda bear. Anyway, I was sitting on my bed (lucid dream) waiting for morning (aren't I the dullest person?) and this Panda bear shows up. I am laughing because it was quite humorous and when I asked what the person wanted they immediately imaged a set of breasts. Get it? Ha ha. Anyway, I thought it was very funny. But I remembered that I am in a period of abstinance and I just shook my finger at them and said: "Naughty panda!" And laughed. Then people started moving around and I realized I had to wake up. So, it really matters little if someone tries to "attack" you sexually or even if they invite you to a sexual encounter, it only matters how you react. Frankly, I see nothing wrong with sexual dreams but too much of anything is definitely bad for you. Just keep to your goals and the rest will be easier (easier, not easy). For all those guys who want to write me dirty emails now, I just have two words for you: "Naughty Panda!" Ha, ha. Really, Trish, must you persists in writing this in the newsgroup? I bet you've had multiple offensive emails by now. You want to know the truth, sexual energy is just another form of energy. Harness it up towards intention and willpower (as in achieving a goal) and you will have a lot more control over your dreams, maybe even your life. Sexuality is not bad and dreaming sexual dreams is not bad but at some point you want to move on and then you have to focus your intent. I am not perfect on doing that, but the idea seems really clear to me. I don't know if I have stated this appropriately in a way that does not make me seem like I think I am "saintly." I make mistakes and like my fun just like anyone else. I also have periods of great clarity which I try to pass on. I am very average so I hope this doesn't come off "holier-than-thou." I just think it is a very common, average situation and have few judgements about it. And if you ask me to list my mistake sessions, forget it. I still think the internet is not the place for it.
