It would sure make it easier to find other OOBers. I am very interested in things like telepathy and telekinesis (moving objects using psychic energy). He discusses methods he has used to contact others in OBE or lucid dream states. He also discusses precognitive dreams. I can relate to this! One time I was really bored and I was trying to move a soda can just to entertain myself (at the time I didn't realize the can was half full, anyways, an empty can is a little ambitious for me but a full can is nearly impossible.) I sat there just concentrating on it for two hours then all of the sudden I felt angry at it and pushed it halfway across my room! It spilled everywhere and I just sat there kinda dazed for a minute. > The lamp swung violently away from me. Not that I have seen, mainly because most people fear this kind of stuff. Plus, I don't know about you but I don't really have enough control over it to use it at will, it takes a lot of concentration.(usually several hours and the minute I realize I am moving something i usually lose concentration and drop it.) Also, I think the heaviest thing that I have ever had good control over was a nail file, so there goes most practical applications for it. > All best wishes, Julia Hawkes-Moore. -- -Zac I have great faith in fools, self-confidence my friends call it. --Edgar Allen Poe ###### From: Zac Newsgroups: alt.out-of-body Subject: Re: communication Date: Thu, 13 Aug 1998 12:42:54 -0700 Organization: none Lines: 44 Message-ID: <35D341BE.72A2@geocities.com> References: <01bdc683$81ac2580$LocalHost@newdmaxa> Reply-To: psycho_dude@geocities.com NNTP-Posting-Host: ple-ca11-22.ix.netcom.com Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-NETCOM-Date: Thu Aug 13 2:34:03 PM CDT 1998 X-Mailer: Mozilla 3.04Gold (Win95; I) Path: ccw.ch!pfaff.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!news-ge.switch.ch!news.maxwell.syr.edu!ix.netcom.com!news Lone Wolf wrote: > > I read somewhere that while you are OOB, other people who are OOB can hear > you. I have a slight natural ability towards both telepathy and telekinesis, damned if I know how I got them, but I think they are genetic. Both of my parents have had pretty strong psychic experences, mainly my mom. I know she has telepathy and telekinesis, she's proven it to me a couple of times. As far as web pages I really haven't seen that many good ones related to psi. The only one I have seen that halfway decently explains telekinesis is: http://www.imsa.edu/~jgable/psy/index.html I don't really know of any other psi sites so you might want to try searching for psi. > I realize that this is not related to OOBE's, so I'm sorry if I have > annoyed anybody, but I don't know where else to go. Psychokinesis- I think it would come in handy with practice control you could use it as an extension of your physical capabilities to help you move heavy objects (like extra muscles!). or reach objects out of reach. ( A couple of things like this have happened to me recently but I had no control over it- like reaching out to push a button on a vending machine or to change a cd track and it just happened before I put my finger on it....I'm not sure if this classifies as psychokinesis) It might even help you out of a dangerous physical situation eg knife wielding maniac, (I'm being serious here). With enough practice, you would probably be able to control the power. Once you have complete control over the power, you will only hurt people who you want to hurt. The same as my fist could hurt someone, but I don't let it. Think of this power as an extension of your normal body, if you can control it, then it is a very good thing. Once you know that it is possible the next step is to concentrate on moving something, you should start really light like a small one or two centemeter square of paper. I really have to thank you for your post Wolfy, you have renewed my interest in telekinesis, I think I will work on fine tuning it. Actually the other day I was doing something interesting, what I would do is play with the signal on my stereo without touching it. My stereo has three lights on it that show how strong the signal is coming in, it usually only has one light lit. Anyways, I can either boost the signal so all three lights are lit and the signal is strong or block the signal so none of the lights are lit and all there is is fuzz. I've heard that trying to move the flame on a candle works well. It is very light, but just make sure you keep out any breeze. Some people say they can extinguish the flame. I have not tried this because Mum and Dad would find out what I'm trying to do and think I'm crazy. My friends think I'm going mad too (especially since I told them about OOBE's). One example, the first that I was sure of follows: I was at the grocery and walking down the aisle pushing my cart when I see a man in front of me pushing his cart. He had a gorgeous full beard and mustache but was about 30 yrs older than I was and I thought to myself "I wonder what it would be like to make love to such an old man." The man stopped his cart and turned right around and began staring at me. I flipped out, put a rein on my thoughts and pretended to be interested in something on the shelves. Have had many experiences since but am more careful of what I think (try to be anyway). I get myself in such trouble sometimes. For them it ranges between "nonexistant" (most of them) via "supernatural" (a minority) to "demonic" (an other minority). When it all of a sudden happens "natural" (usually based on present scientific teachings) goes out of the window and "demonic" (based on long repressed religious techings) resurfaces, seeing Julia as the devil woman in consequence. 300..500 years ago that would have been base for an witch burning, today you only get sent home. Working up enough willpower to overcome the basic disbelief in tele/psychokinesis that society ingraines in one. The more often one does it, one loses the disbelief, so it requires less willpower to do it. Thinking about it, that is most likely the same reason why the first OBE is so difficult. Also most likely why the vibrations get weaker in time, because one has to "charge up" less willpower, and discharges less of it against the barriers. Also most likely why spontaneous OBE happens more often to people who accept its existance. > > The lamp swung violently away from me. Once I was playing monopoly with a friend, I picked up the two dice and cleared my mind of all thought, I thought I will roll a 6 and a 4, I made myself truly expect to roll a 6 and a 4. It worked! I did the same type of thing 6 times in a row, then I told my friend that I can roll any two numbers, it stopped working (made me feel like an idiot). I have never been able to do this since. Look, I copied it out again for you, even though you copied it out for yourself. Do you know, I really hate having to repeat myself. It is a waste of time, words, and energy, all precious things. Well, lots of people have written down answers to my question, which I will not repeat, but all the suggestions seem rather pointless. To be more precise: all lifeforms have an built it tendency to retreat from danger or if this is impossible to attack it (self defense). In the case of lifeforms with an analytic nerve systems this defensive behaviour happens as soon as they get into an situaltion percieved as threatening. This reaction is what is known as fear. Unknown situations are usually handled as potentially dangerous, so they also trigger an fear response. That is normal biology. > If I saw someone move something without touching it, I would want to know > how they did it. Some people run away from the one thing that can stop > their fears, understanding. Because you (and Zac and me and most a.oob-ers) belong to the adventurous minority of the human species. But most humans see unknown as an threat. Behind every human sits millions of years where being catious could save ones life at the maximum cost of perhaps missing one of many opportunities in life. Just some food for thought: I just had another idea why you may reconsider developing it: Think of two car drivers, one who can barely drive and an other experienced one. Who of them is more likely to run over an pedestrian? Most likely the inexperienced one. Now you have got rudimentary tele/psychokinesis abilities. Perhaps it would reduce the chance of an inadvertant damage if you would develop them and learn to control them in the path of doing this. If I had such an ability I would want to control it. -- home: Neil.Franklin@ccw.ch.remove http://www.ccw.ch/Neil.Franklin/ work: franklin@arch.ethz.ch.remove http://caad.arch.ethz.ch/~franklin/ *** It's true ! Obviously it takes a lot of power to control this to a large extent, but if you can move a lamp, why not something bigger. Like a car, or a space shuttle? I guess it would be hard to make it last long enough for a trip to space or a lengthy car ride, or control enough so that your car doesn't smash into something, but those are possibilities. ###### Message-ID: <35DA6D14.9508F743@swbell.net> From: venus uzynski Reply-To: venuski@swbell.net X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.05 [en] (Win95; I) MIME-Version: 1.0 Newsgroups: alt.out-of-body Subject: Re: communication References: <01bdc683$81ac2580$LocalHost@newdmaxa> <35d2eb3d.430062@news.dial.pipex.com> <01bdc752$82739320$LocalHost@newdmaxa> <35e3f9c7.10767277@news.earthlink.net> <01bdc8b7$714d3ea0$LocalHost@newdmaxa> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Lines: 24 Date: Wed, 19 Aug 1998 00:13:40 -0600 NNTP-Posting-Host: 207.193.21.90 X-Complaints-To: abuse@swbell.net X-Trace: typhoon01.swbell.net 903507343 207.193.21.90 (Wed, 19 Aug 1998 01:15:43 CDT) NNTP-Posting-Date: Wed, 19 Aug 1998 01:15:43 CDT Organization: SBC Internet Services Path: ccw.ch!pfaff.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!news.belnet.be!news-raspail.gip.net!news-peer.gip.net!news.gsl.net!gip.net!news-peer.sprintlink.net!news-backup-west.sprintlink.net!news.sprintlink.net!151.164.30.35!cyclone.swbell.net!typhoon01.swbell.net.POSTED!not-for-mail Hi Wolfy, I'm rather well-known around the office for my skills in weather-witching. To this day, I don't know if *I* moved these objects, or if they were moved by poltergeists. At the time, I really thought my apartment was haunted. But I later learned that many poltergeist phenomena are really caused by the mental energy of a person who lives where the activity happened. Anyway, one experience was when I was in the kitchen and the pepper shaker (it was a new set -- handmade ceramic, really cool) literally flew off the top of the stove and smashed to the floor. I watched in shock and amazement as it scooted across the stove (it was about in the center) and described an arc that took it about 18 inches *away* from the stove. It was broken beyond repair and I was both frightened and stunned. This is a true story that really happened to me. So, what do you think? Did I manipulate it with my mind? Or was it a poltergeist? But I don't see why a poltergeist would do something like that. If you can't find any other explanation for why this happened, then I would say you have random telekinesis. Try doing it on purpose. I think your response shows that you probably would hurt someone if you developed this skill since you have such little control over yourself and try to blame being sick for being rude.
