Try a different position so that you can ignore your breathing problems. I have noticed that breathing nearly stops during the shift. It will pick up again once you've forgotten about your body. Well the problem is you loose your concentration and also you must find that when you are in this state you must try not to think to much or then your body wakes up. Try keeping your breatheing steady by starting your meditation before your OBE by breatheing a few times deeply and rhythmically. Your spiritually Jupiter Jones! But I sensed some sort of astral electronic device hovering in the air about 8 feet away from my body, and this seemed to be the cause of it. I was in Kentucky at the time. Years later I resumed my OBEs, in another state, and I never had the problem again. I'm not blaming Kentucky (lol). But I don't pay attention to my body either. If you hold your breath until you pass out, your body automatically resumes its breathing while you're unconscious. So take Bart's advice. It's an involuntary function, and it will resume when you've left the body. I haven't ever heard of anyone dying this way, you know?
