I had a strange experience with an OBE the other night. Actually, the OBE was run of the mill, but the interesting part is that my sense of hearing never shut down before I had the OBE. I took a nap early Christmas evening ... (wasn't feeling too well) ... but I still had some relatives at my house who stayed behind after the earlier festivities. -- As I fell asleep, I went right into an OBE. The entire OBE lasted about an hour, but I could still hear conversations that took place in the other rooms of my house. I heard the TV going, people in the kitchen ... I even noticed when they decided to play a board game, and the playful argument that ensued between the winner and the losers. When I finally woke from the OBE, I confirmed what I had heard from the other members of my family, and I was completely accurate. At the start of the OBE I tried walking out into the rest of the house to join everyone (so to speak) but found myself in an entirely different place. None the less, all that I heard was correct. While it was happening, I could focus in on what I was hearing, and it didn't take away from the OBE at all. What's your opinion on what happened? Did I not fall asleep entirely, but still went into an OBE? Did I fall asleep, except for my sense of hearing? Has anyone had something similar happen to them? Thanks for the feedback ... This is fairly normal and can be learned from what I've been told. (people at the Monroe Institute) Though this has happened to me only before and while seperation is taking place. I've never experienced being somewhere on the planes while receiving input from my flesh and bloods surroundings. I know at the Monroe Institute they were using this technique to communicate through people to ask questions to non-physical persons. And for projectionists to record things as they're happening. One of the real interesting things about your run-of-the-mill OBE is, your speech centres of the brain are active during OBE. (a little tid-bit of info I thought you might like to know) Some people who are starting out with OBE commonly report slow-motion communication (words comming out in slow motion) when trying to communicate to another non-physical being because the speech centre is getting the hang of running while the rest of the brain is shut off. Communication back and fourth through the human body while projected can be learned and is it quite possible. The communication encounters of the most satisfying kind have always been with an exchange of "understanding" that was vaster than words, like an impartation of wisdom... and needed words as touchstones after the experience to journalize and document. It's amazing how vast the giftings and potentials are isn't it? ###### From: themissinglink Newsgroups: alt.out-of-body Subject: Re: Has this happened to you? This is how it occurs within "visitations" I have entertained or participated in. ###### From: junk@printnet.com (hotbread) Newsgroups: alt.out-of-body Subject: Re: Has this happened to you? I have retained my sense of hearing during the initial "paralysis" stages of OBE. Actually, it's kind of funny... this cleared up a long-standing argument. My fiance was finally vindicated. I really DO snore! I laid there for a few minutes listening to myself snore and trying to get myself to stop. I couldn't. ------------------------------------------------------------ Spam Sucks- send e-mail to jwarmbrodt at netexplorer dot com "Ya blabbed, Quaid! I was totally shocked due to the sound of the branch... -- http://members.tripod.com/~Xperiment
