A routine that I was taught involves holding one hand over the 6th chakra and the other over the 1st chakra and letting the Reiki flow until you feel ready to move on. Then move your hands inward one chakra to 5th and 2nd positions and let the Reiki flow. When done, move inward one more chakra to the last position, 4th and 3rd chakra. Reiki until done. Hope that helps! The purpose in acupressure is to open up the two channels on the front and back of the body. One goes from the coccyx to the crown point, the other down the front of the body `through' the chakra points. Technically, the channels meet at the perineum, the spot between the genitals and the anus, but pubic/tail bones are close enough. Sort of like bringing the energy up the spine, but grounding it down to the beginning. If you're familiar with the Microcosmic Orbit of qi gong, it's like that. 2) You would pause a moment or six at each point. In the acupressure treatment we wait until feeling the energy pulse in each hand (or fingers), then move to the next point. Once is usually sufficient. I can get very relaxed doing this; when I've given it to my bf to help him sleep, I also got very sleepy. Fortunately, it was bedtime anyway. sue ###### From: "BL" Newsgroups: alt.healing.reiki References: Subject: Re: Help with Chakra Balancing Lines: 4 X-Priority: 3 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.2180 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2900.2180 X-RFC2646: Format=Flowed; Response Message-ID: X-Complaints-To: abuse@bellsouth.net X-Abuse-Info: Please forward a copy of all headers for proper handling X-Trace: npbhgpngjbkmjfegdbdpiflmbcekedmfhojhikkbagflhcbogpacjihafkphbjdnhmflobgbkncgldanhkomcjoomhifonaaccdcjbmimoeblopljknjmbffolaaphboepaildnmnbmilbclllgpngigfcfmcgoc NNTP-Posting-Date: Wed, 27 Apr 2005 16:02:45 EDT Organization: BellSouth Internet Service Date: Wed, 27 Apr 2005 16:04:42 -0400 Path: nightfall.franklin.ch!news1.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!irazu.switch.ch!switch.ch!news.belwue.de!feed.news.tiscali.de!newsfeed.freenet.de!ecngs!feeder2.ecngs.de!meganewsservers.com!feeder2.on.meganewsservers.com!news.glorb.com!bigfeed.bellsouth.net!bignumber.bellsouth.net!news.bellsouth.net!bignews4.bellsouth.net.POSTED!0aea2089!not-for-mail Xref: nightfall.franklin.ch alt.healing.reiki:24663 Yes, all the replies have been very helpful. I read this one on a website somewhere once and the explanation was that 1/6, and 2/5 and 3/4 will add to total 7 which is what balances them all. Something along those lines, but the key was that two being balanced totalled 7. sue ###### From: suzee Newsgroups: alt.healing.reiki Subject: Re: Help with Chakra Balancing Date: Thu, 28 Apr 2005 09:33:56 -0400 Organization: Michigan State University Lines: 20 Message-ID: References: <3d9de0F6r6n18U1@uni-berlin.de> <3dblfvF6hc90eU1@uni-berlin.de> NNTP-Posting-Host: lannas5modem17.acd.net Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-AUTHid: fordkenn User-Agent: Mozilla Thunderbird 0.7 (Windows/20040616) X-Accept-Language: en-us, en In-Reply-To: <3dblfvF6hc90eU1@uni-berlin.de> Path: nightfall.franklin.ch!news1.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!switch.ch!solnet.ch!solnet.ch!news.glorb.com!hammer.uoregon.edu!logbridge.uoregon.edu!msunews!not-for-mail Xref: nightfall.franklin.ch alt.healing.reiki:24680 Theo wrote: > HI Sue > one more thing thing > so you do not put the L palm above the Chackra point. > you put a finger an push gently like for digito pressure right? You can use your palm, or three fingers if you wish. It doesn't matter, just however you can sense the energy pulse. Jin shin acupressure uses *no* pressure, just holding the points. I tend to use fingers as I got used to feeling the energy that way, but I can also feel it when using the palms. It doesn't really matter Theo, it's the sequence that does the balancing, not what you use. Here's an illustration http://www.hightouchnet.com/self_help.html I usually skip the tip of the nose though, as it's a little strange and I don't feel the pulse much in that point anyway. sue ###### From: Theo Newsgroups: alt.healing.reiki Subject: Re: Help with Chakra Balancing Date: Thu, 28 Apr 2005 21:15:13 +0200 Lines: 43 Message-ID: <3dcr11F6qrb94U1@uni-berlin.de> References: <426ec1ba.2738622@news.east.earthlink.net> <4270c8c7.2847964@news.east.earthlink.net> Reply-To: byjoke@ch.inter.net Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-Trace: news.uni-berlin.de QOCiZtQoTnkvDjd6a1EaLAuyUL1A/YVnID5pTBHlwC3yxbT7GlTegi User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Netscape/7.1 (ax) X-Accept-Language: en, fr, it In-Reply-To: Path: nightfall.franklin.ch!news1.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!switch.ch!solnet.ch!solnet.ch!fu-berlin.de!uni-berlin.de!not-for-mail Xref: nightfall.franklin.ch alt.healing.reiki:24693 suzee wrote: > Garry Williams wrote: > >> On Thu, 28 Apr 2005 08:52:46 +0200, Alok Nartano >> wrote: >> >> >>> Wondering why you leave the 7° out... >>> Sounds more meaningful to me to balance it with the 1°, then move >>> inward...and at last use both hands on the 4°, which, after all, >>> is the central chakra, bridging between the "lower" and the >>> "upper" chakras... >> >> >> >> I'm afraid I couldn't tell you why. Perhaps it wasn't that clear in the diagram. > than you have 2 more one back in the nape corrsesponding to the > throat and one in the kidneys corresponding to the hara (front) > I have to check on my book what they say too late now will do tomorrow That goes beyond the basic seven though. There's many people now who say `new' ones have been discovered, maybe up to 12, but I don't buy it. Some of the so-called `new' ones have always been considered minor chakras, like the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. sue ###### From: suzee Newsgroups: alt.healing.reiki Subject: Re: Help with Chakra Balancing Date: Fri, 29 Apr 2005 08:52:02 -0400 Organization: Michigan State University Lines: 37 Message-ID: References: <426ec1ba.2738622@news.east.earthlink.net> <4270c8c7.2847964@news.east.earthlink.net> <3dcr11F6qrb94U1@uni-berlin.de> <3ddop3F6q4sduU1@uni-berlin.de> NNTP-Posting-Host: modem11.nas9.acd.net Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-AUTHid: fordkenn User-Agent: Mozilla Thunderbird 0.7 (Windows/20040616) X-Accept-Language: en-us, en In-Reply-To: <3ddop3F6q4sduU1@uni-berlin.de> Path: nightfall.franklin.ch!news1.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!irazu.switch.ch!switch.ch!newsfeed00.sul.t-online.de!t-online.de!newshub.sdsu.edu!logbridge.uoregon.edu!msunews!not-for-mail Xref: nightfall.franklin.ch alt.healing.reiki:24707 Theo wrote: > Alok Nartano wrote: > >> On date Thu, 28 Apr 2005 21:15:13 +0200 user "Theo" >> byjoke@ch.inter.net in message <3dcr11F6qrb94U1@uni-berlin.de> >> wrote: >>> I do >>> 1 hand on 1 & 7 >>> than 2 & 6 >>>than 3 & 5 >>> >>> and two hands on chest the seventh ! and than the same backward >>> but quicker >> >> >> Exactly the same here, except for the backward part, which I >> haven't been taught... > yes but in that diagram that Sue sent > they put two chackra points that for me are Heart and they > splitted into chest and sternum so it makes 8 so I got lost They are not two for the heart.
