I've done some reading on the internet on many different Reiki systems and also came accross a Kundalini Reiki attunement webiste from Ole Gabrielsen who claims to have been guieded by Ascended Master Kuthumi to give Kundalini Reiki attunements. Well one can literally order any kind of attunement from the many flavours available. For those familiar with Kundalini Reiki, what is your observation, opinion or experience so far. To me it seems to have similarities with Reiki Tummo which also works with safe Kundalini awakening combined with Reiki attunement. There may be other Kundalini Reiki systems I'm not aware of, but eager to know how others think or experience this. Hi Frank, I'm not familiar with Kundalini Reiki so can't comment on that, but I do know from personal experience that Kundalini energy is something not to be taken lightly. You should certainly look into it a bit more before you decide to pursue it as it can have pretty horrific consequences if the energy is not handled correctly. An uncontrolled Kundalini release can cause anything from physical illness to severe mental problems. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't follow this particular path though. Kundalini is a very powerful energy and is going to be a big part of the next stage in human evolution. There is much that it can achieve if used in the right way, but consequently there is much that it can destroy if misused. I guess like all these things, you must go into it with your eyes open and trust in your higher self....... I forgot to mention that the healer you initially advised directed me to two persons I could choose in Rotterdam, which is near where I live. It was still a three hour drive to him and he advised me to get initiated personally by the Reiki masters he recommended. Intuitively I choose one, a women, who after contacting her proved to be the right choice. I've been in contact with her several times now and she really knows what she is talking about and has answered every question I had in the best way she could. I always check if my initial feeling corresponds with my experiences. Don't know if I mentioned it to you, but my attention was drawn by the Kundalini Reiki because I do Kundalini yoga guided by a guru, who does not want to be called a guru. He also does Kundalini diksha but only if you have advanced spiritually to be ready for a safe Kundalini awakening. However this path is only for those who seriously have the will and determination to return to Source by surrendering fully. Not an easy task, but the guidance is there when we are ready and I feel blessed to meet wonderful souls like you, on my/our journey home. I know of the dangers involved in Kundalini awakening, but always eager to investigate and learn. So rest assured I will not run. As I explained earlier in this thread (2nd post) in response to Elisabeth, I'm aware of the risks involved in awakening the sleeping serpent and actually have read a lot of stories where it did go wrong. There are more and more people who's Kundalini is activated naturally and the physical problems involved can drive people and doctors crazy when not aware of how to deal with it. As part of Kundalini yoga I follow I have the guidance of a guru who is also a Reiki Master and Kundalini is only awakened when reached a certain spiritual level. The aim is to realize the Self. There were some pains and burning sensations in the first weeks and a few nights of missed sleep but nothing serious. It happened a few months after I did a course in meditation. In the course we learned to clean all our chakra's and energy pathways. In the months after that I had a few "energy explosions" in the belly and solar plexus. Then some day I read about Kundalini on a website and while reading it I pictured the snake uncoil in my mind (because that's the way I think). I felt an energy flash above my head and saw some white lights. In the middle of the night I had a short obe and when I woke up energy was going like crazy through my body. Couldn't sleep anymore. Body was very hot. Red face, shiny eyes. Looked like I had a fever, but I didn't feel bad. I felt like superman for a week or two. Hardly slept but that didn't seem to matter. Then it cooled off for a while and one by one with a few weeks in between my chakra's got hot for a few hours (that hurt a bit) and felt lighter afterwards. I read somewhere that Reiki makes it less violent. My experience is that is does take the power out. After I got my Reiki attunement the Kundalini stopped completely for more than half a year and I missed it! Now it's coming back but not so strong anymore. Guess I was being greedy and impatient getting attunements in the middle of a kundalini process. Silly me. I read that it takes about 12 years to finish in optimal conditions.. I wouln't be afraid of it. It's an adventure. Just make sure you have energy moving in your spine before you do it and you'll be fine. I have not had many of the scary symptoms you read about so often...but that is of course a personal experience. I did have several nights where my girlfriend had to get out of our bed because I was going through what she says were convulsions...but I like to think were involuntary Yoga movements ;-) and many nights of SERIOUS night sweats. I can also give Kundalini attunements with all boosters, and/or Gold Reiki if you would like. Sounds like you've had a pretty good experience with it - I guess part of the reason why Kundalini has a bad press is that a release can occur at any time and not necessarily when you are ready to accept it, although as you say, for you it happened after a meditation course so it can certainly be 'encouraged'. For me it happened completely out of the blue and until I discovered what it was, it scared the hell out of me. On and off for nearly two years I had huge energy releases at night which made me feel like my body was full of electricity and that I was about to have seizure. Not knowing what this was I tried to resist it and push the energy out, but as I had no idea about reiki or UE at this time I was pretty much working in the dark. Although this did help to begin with, as anyone who's had experience of Kundalini will know, if it's rising it's rising no matter what you do! Anyway, during this initial experience I was also strongly drawn to spirituality and my outlook on life really changed. This consequently scared my friends who thought I was going mad! I was 19 at the time and to be honest was pretty wild. I and my friends rarely thought about next week, let alone the afterlife so it was a bit odd for me to suddenly start meditating and talking about god! There were quite a few people who just couldn't accept the change in me and I went through a really lonely patch where I wished I could just 'turn it off' and go back to being 'normal'. Now looking back I can see that the people who faded away were simply not ready to ask the questions I was asking, and that those who have stuck by me or who have come into my life since are all there for a reason. At the time though I felt isolated and alone and as a result became quite depressed. Another effect of this process was that I also started to see the UE field, but as I had no idea what it was I thought I was going blind or had some kind of tumour so I decided that I had to go to the doctor and sort it out. Needless to say no one was interested and nobody would take me seriously which just compounded my distress and I seriously thought I might be going mad. During this time however I did my Reiki I and suddenly things started to drop into place. Now I understand what the energy is and like you say the reiki seems to lessen the effect which for me is a real plus. At the moment I'm having a break from that side of things, although for how long I don't know. One thing I've learnt is that kundalini will not wait for you to be 'ready', and doesn't care if you have a job or a wife or a mortgage. However, I've also learnt that kundalini is an incredibly important aspect of our being and connects us with the divine in a way which is more direct than anything else I've experienced. Because of this, I look forward to going back to it when the time is right for me, and I will trust that whatever effects it has on me or my life will be for the highest good... But anyway, that's enough of a ramble.... As I may or may not have mentioned earlier Kundalini energy is something one must experience. Given the simplicity of how the initiations are presented and one is bound to think; well sounds interesting, so lets give it a try, it seems to me that not having the spiritual level to deal with this energy and not having someone to guide you, it could turn out to be a disaster. Of course not for everyone and not at all times. Spirituality and spiritual growth take time and that time is needed to prepare the whole being to be able to not only fully understand the process, but also to be able to sustain the energies involved. Every step in the proces takes us a bit further to Self Realization and to run instead of walking could be asking for problems. As this form of Reiki is not very common, I was interested in knowing how others have experienced it and what their observation or opinion is. I have been offered Kundalini Reiki already by someone else who has been initiated by Ole Gabrielsen, but honestly, it does not feel right for me and I don't want to put my spiritual process at stake. Besides I will get attunement for Tera Mai later this month which is a good enough addition to my Kundalni yoga practise in removing blockages. My initial feeling (intuition) on many things have over time proven to be right. However I thank you for the the generous offer and as you seem to be a frequent visitor of this newsgroup, would love to read your experiences from time to time. From what I recall it is the premature awaking of Kundalini that is problematic, to the point of maddening in some cases. She goes into great detail about what happens when it is released prematurely. Basically from what I recall, if the Kundalini hits blockages in the chakra system, it basically blasts through them, this of course can cause great difficulty to the person being blasted. If the chakra system/central channel is relatively free of blockages than it's not much of a problem. Perhaps this might explain why KR is fairly gentle (I have no experience with KR myself) as the person will likely have cleared up, at least to some extent, many of their blockages before releasing the Kundalini. Heh, that's actually the first book I read when I started to try and understand what was happening to me. I was given it by a girl who, before we'd even met or spoken about what I was going through, walked up to me and said "you're having a spiritual crisis aren't you?", but that's another story...... Anyway, I'd really recommend Alice Bailey's writings to everyone. Some of them do get a bit 'technical', but if you can get your head around the concepts it's really interesting and certainly resonated with my understanding of things. What are you trying to say ;) Ok, in short it was a period in my life in which the harder I tried to ignore the universe the louder it shouted! Looking back at it now it's quite funny how blind I was to what was going on. I guess part of it was that I didn't really want to open my eyes and take on the responsibility, but then I think part of me still doesn't, I just have no excuse now!.... Incidentally if you like Alice Bailey's stuff then, if you haven't already, you should check out the Lucis Trust (www.lucistrust.org). They are a really interesting organisation and run some good projects. I especially like the idea of 'Triangles' which works along similar lines similar as distance healing where you are hooked up with two other people who can be anywhere in the world. Then, at set times, you use specific intention to help raise the world's spiritual resonance. The websites also packed full of interesting stuff so is well worth a look IMO...
