Something which has intrigued me since I was first attuned to reiki is that there seem to be several different types of energy involved. The basic reiki flow usually feels very warm and seems to spread slowly out from my hands (Sometimes this is reversed to a cold feeling, or sometimes is combined with a feeling like pins and needles in my palms). There also seems to be another form energy form which feels more like a wave or breeze washing over my body. This is much more intense and gives me a really shivery tingly feeling! It also seems to come from outside of my body and the direction seems to change every time (although usually it comes from behind, over my left or right shoulder). Obviously the way the energy is felt or interpreted going to be different for each person, but I would be interested to hear anyone's thoughts on these different energy forms. Are they all reiki energy or are there more forces at work? The energies that I am aware of are; What I have called a *Golden Mist* all my life & have learned the last 3 years is called Reiki in Japanese or Universal Life Force in English. I can actually see ULF energy & know that it is affected by thought, the bioelectric energy present in all living things, geomagnetic & geoelectric energy & man made & natural electric energy. It is hard to say if what you feel is ULF or one of the electric energies. Hi Alex! It's interesting that you say you can see ULF - About 4 years ago after a period of quite intense meditation I started to notice what looked like TV 'static' overlaid over everything I saw. Obviously this quite concerned me and I went to all sorts of opticians and doctors to try and find out what was 'wrong' with my eyes. I also started to see what I thought was afterimages surrounding people, again I thought that this was something wrong with me or my eyes. Anyway, it was only when I was attuned to reiki that I realised that the two were connected, and I guess it is as you say ULF. I now find the 'static' fascinating and I learn more and more about it each time I use reiki. However, Kirlian photography doesn't measure what most people that use it or have heard of it claim it measures. The changes in the "energy fields" are related to the changes in the amount and conductivity of the moisture associated with the subject being photographed. Most people don't know that the device charges up the subject with an electric field, so you're not photographing what's naturally there, you're "photographing" (it's a wee more complicated than just pressing the button on your Kodak) an induced field that fluctuates according to the amount of moisture present and changes in local conductivity. To "see" and measure real bioenergy fields, you have to pay the serious bucks for the necessary equipment. Of course, YMMV, and I'm not interested in any shouting matches with anyone who swears by the Holy Kirlian Camera that they will kill the infidel unbelievers. Life is too short for that sort of nonsense. OTOH, if someone can present real evidence, including a supportable theory, as to how the Kirlian process could possibly be taking pictures of life energy fields, that could be an interesting discussion. But I'm not holding my breath. It is recommend that one do some technical research into how Kirlian photography works before blindly supporting it and the claims made for it. It sounds like you are sighted also. Can you see it all the time or do you still have to meditate to see it? Do you see it as colors or as black/white specks? For me it's like the air was colored with a yellow gold mist. When I look at people (or any living thing) it's like a double exposure with a translucent image overlaid on them. Having seen it since birth I had to learn to ignore most of the reactions in the UE. Crystals appear to glow within their self, while magnets have a area around them that appears as a glow. Individual crystals & different types of crystal appear to glow with different colors & intensity. The cow magnet is put down the cows throat into the first stomach (the reticulum) where it is regurgitated by the cow with what is called the cud for rechewing. The cow will spit out the hard magnet along with any metal stuck to it. No having a magnet in it's first stomach doesn't make the cow more attractive to metal objects. Most modern dairy farms are more careful about what their cows eat so cow bar magnets are seldom used for that purpose. It's where you fine tune the resonant frequency of a crystal to retune the sharp unpleasant frequencies to a more mellow pleasant frequency. Look at a crystal & the way it affects the UE field. If you see any dark or sharp spikes of color try holding it in your hand & think loving mellow thoughts at it as you would when giving Reiki & see if it mellows down. Having only recently started playing with crystals I've basicly been using my intutition and seeing what they can do. I've found that some crystals seem to 'missbehave', especialy when they are new. (When I say misbehave I mean that they give a negative and somtimes painfull response) Like you say, they seem to have more aggresive fieds with lots of very concentrated dark spikes that seem to 'lash out'. When this happens, I usualy hold onto the crstal and visualise it being full of loving reiki energy. This usualy calms the crystal down, although I find some are more susceptable to reverting back to their 'bad ways' than others. The trouble is that no distinction is made between - Reiki, the energy - Reiki, the system - Reiki, the practice or application The first is always pure. The second can be "contaminated" by adding things that are in contradiction to the system or adding all kind of irrelevant things. This will in turn "contaminate" the third item, but this can also be "contaminated" on its own, by absent-mindedness, ego-trips, not giving proper attention to the healee, etc. Dirty electricity has a lot of noise, voltages that are outside desirable ranges (e.g. brown outs), spikes which can cause damage (e.g. lightning strikes). Rays and waves can be subject to so much interference (e.g. pollution) and static (e.g radio waves) that the intended result is not achieved. The power grid signal from Europe can be picked up in North America and vice versa. As it happens, the frequencies that are naturally produced by the Earth and it's processes are the same frequencies that stimulate healing of the various types of tissue in our bodies. (yeah, like *that's* going to happen) BTW, a couple of decades ago when I was a student at university, I took a class in criminology. The professor showed us statistics that showed that more reports of violent crime happened during a full moon, and likewise, there were more admissions to psychiatric facilities during a full moon.
