I will require that the 'student' has some perception of ULF & can enter a
meditative or awareness state where that perception is enhanced. I will call
that perception 'feeling'.

Try this: 
In a quiet place & sitting in a comfortable position hold your hands in a prayer
position. Don't put a strain on your arms or hands.

Start Reiki flowing from one hand to the other, move your hands about a hands
width apart, feel the Reiki flow, & keep the Reiki flowing, then Visualize,
Imagine Reiki flowing through a still pool of water between your hands,
Visualize, Imagine, the flow of the Reiki causing a ripple in that water.

It may help to use a bowl of water, then lightly tap the side of the bowl to
cause a ripple to establish a visual image. 

The point of this exercise is to enhance the 'feeling perception' with a 'visual
perception', similar to the way a person that has been blinded has to learn to
change a sight perception to a feeling perception. 

The reason I've suggested this as a beginning practice is that since I was
attuned I have been practicing with the Golden Mist & the feeling I perceived at
attunement. I believe that most persons attuned to Reiki should be able to
duplicate the 'feeling' of Reiki flowing between their hands. Visualizing the
flow as ripples in a Golden Mist is just a matter of practice, practice,
practice, though others may perceive the ULF as a different color or as light.

If anyone tries this please let me know if you have any success or not. :)

I'm trying to implement the KISS principle at this stage. A real bowl of water
can be used during this early training period to give the beginner something
real, that is easy to visualize.

You know what? I have not read what's below, but as soon as I could figure
out you were making the effort to answer this, I felt... so happy.

Like if yet another birthday present was coming (I passed on the supposedly
wrong side of 40 3 days and 33 minutes ago, and this year, it was really
groovy.)


Seriously, though, I can be quite good on intuitions, I have a basically
good sensitivity to Reiki / ULF energy in my palms since long, but not much
more I know of.

That's great, especially since I'm really NOT interested in spotting Russian
ICBM sites on maps, and that sort of things. Ooops, sorry, I couldn't
resist. I hope I'm not disqualified - yet.

I'm very happy to read this, even though I'm not sure I do qualify (I
haven't read the end of the post yet). But, deep from my heart, I know for
sure this coming out of knowledge deserved to happen, whoever the happy ones
will be.

Yes to this, to some extent.

I can sense various degrees of warmth and tickling on my hands. This does
not happen all the time, only most - yesterday I did a Reiki healing to
Lena, did not feel anything, and when I asked her, she said she could quite
sense it.

I tend to relate the first to the intensity of energy needed by the
receiver, and the second, to the receiver's "degree of need" for healing.


After the good night I feel I quite deserve after this long day (01:00 AM
here), I'll read / translate / meditate on the info below.

I did a first, quick read. I could quickly feel quite strongly the flow
between my hands.

One possibly strange and probably most insignificant thing: I felt the
energy as flowing from the left hand to the right hand - and I'm
right-handed. Should this matter?
(Just curious, sorry for already beginning to make it more complicated...)

And another question: did you have in mind a specific prayer-related
position of the hands, or just putting them close to each other, each palm
facing the other?
This is a topic I could develop (in another post, promise), due to some
experiences and an unexpected meeting with Japanese Zen monks learning
Karate, 20 years ago.

visual image with the perception of ULF.

Not at all. Whatever way you feel the flow going visualize the ripple going the
same way.

an area of water can be visualized.

Hi Sue.  I looked at the coding and there was some old css stuff stuck
in the header... I've removed it.  That was my oversight, apologies.

If memory serves me correctly you are usually trying to connect what your
imagination sees (Golden Mist) with Reiki.

In any event at least we are both saying that what is seen is not really
relative, it can be anything or nothing.

Sorry Joseph, but what I see & call a Golden Mist (for lack of a better term) is
no more imagined or imagination than that bright ball of light that shines in
the sky every day. Just because it is cloudy or night time & it can't be seen
doesn't mean it isn't there.  

I'm not *trying* to connect what I see (Golden Mist) to Reiki, the fact is that
practicing Reiki affects it. I *can* see that affect.

Correct. I'm sure we both can agree that Reiki works regardless of if it can be
seen or not.
