Pretty interesting. Very traditional Japanese sounding in the rigour of the group practice, taking place over several days at a time. Hard practice, no escaping the dojo! Also sounded a lot like some of the Polynesian self-training approaches -- semi-martial ki training. But the actual description of the technique itself was the sketchiest of the sketchy. Anyone here have experience with it? How similar or different is it from what Doi-sensei and others teach as a part of hatsureiho? Tohei Sensei is the head of the Ki Society (Kinyokenyukei), a school of Aikido. The idea here is to provide physical/mental waystations as a means to get to a "Ki State", which is what you want to be in when you do this type of Aikido. There are 4 things that Tohei teaches: Keep weight underside Keep one point Extend Ki Relax completely There is a lot on the net if you look for Ki Aikido. I know nothing about Doi-sensei or his teachings. I gtg now, but we can do more on this later. Check under Ki Aikido in the meantime. Hai-YA!
