Have you ever noticed that certain places seem to be infused with a great amount of energy .. to the point that they almost have healing and balancing effect on your psyche when you walk into them? I've become more aware of this after discovering reiki (becoming more sensitive to the energies in my surroundings), but still haven't figured out what it is that fills these places with energy. For me, the strongest places I've encountered are my local reiki center, house belonging to a psychic I know, and, laughably, my barber shop (which is incidentally filled with lots of plants). My mood has been a bit down in the dumps lately, which makes the power of these places even more apparent .. as soon as I walk into them the darkness seems to evaporate into a feeling of peace and calm. This is very noted in a lot of old lore- go chat with a wican or whatever and a very large part of their art is involved in sussing out the power of places. Why do you think europe is criss-crossed with lay lines and cultures back 5000 were spending generations carting stones round the place to mark them off? If you can get hold of a copy, try browsing 'A Witch Alone' (I have forgotten the authour) as this is mainly based on finding the places of power/ good chi/ sacred spots around your area. I feel very free when walking over a certain part of a parking lot near a supermarket in my town! The spot is about 100 meters wide and it touches a group of 3 houses there. Sure would like to own one of them. And the south west of france feel better to me then where I live but that could have something to do with the light being brighter. Telluric currents are induced by changes in Earth's magnetic field which are usually caused by interactions between the solar wind and the ionosphere (part of the upper atmosphere). " I don't know if this is exactly the same thing, but something similar was described by Taoists, and was (IIRC) associated with chi energy. But think of ley lines as being similiar to a body's meridians, with `vortices' like the acu-points. Ah, yes - I've heard of ley lines, but I thought that they were the marks left on your neck after your Hawaiian vacation ;-0 I've been reading past messages here. I have the name of someone who was doing attunements locally. She was running classes out of a local new-age shop, but the interest tapered off, so the classes stopped. The shop owner gave me her name, though. I don't have any particular reason, except that it seems like a cool thing to do. Tom
