All the lists that I have are somewhat basic. I ask as I keep putting my shoulder out- semi dislocating the joint & leading to pain in the joint/ muscle tissue around it, ans was just wondering if there could be any 'root' cause of this (other than having twatted the joint at some point in the past!). I was also having terrible problems with my shoulder for a few months and while it's much better now (I can use it and move it) it was kind of hard for a while. Louise Hay suggests that if her insights don't work for that you trust your own insights about possible causes. Personally the statement that "THE OWL" posted works for me, but in addition I realized that I was in a sense crippling myself. Having pain in my right shoulder meant that my right arm couldn't function (I could barely raise it and I couldn't hold anything heavy or physically support or lift the kids I work with). Not being able to function meant not being able to work and deal with my responsibilities. The burden for me was my perception of my job. I felt like "I just can't do it anymore" and my body was trying to make it so, because mentally and emotionally I was more or less giving up. Someone also pointed out to me that the right side is the masculine side and since I feel like I am fighting or struggling I am dealing with a masculine energy. I think a combination of recognizing what this pain meant for me, and starting acupuncture are what helped relieve the pain for me (I was not able to take care of it with Reiki). I have full range of motion with my arm now and no pain, but I do hear a wierd clicking in my shoulder every now and then. oh well. At least I can function--I figure in time it will get back to normal. Anyway my point is that perhaps you could either meditate on it, or just sit and think about it and maybe you will be able to discern where your shoulder problem is coming from even without a definitive list of causative factors. Good luck and feel better! Namaste. Something I was told about Louise Hay.... her `reasons' are the ones that she's developed during her healing practice and believes in. They may not be valid in all cases. This is true of *anyone's* list of emotional causes of illness/disease. Everyone is different, and we have to look at all of them, and also intuit which is the best explanation for the individual. namaste, sue ###### Message-ID: <3EEDA1CE.4463D557@bluewin.ch> Date: Mon, 16 Jun 2003 12:54:07 +0200 From: Theo Reply-To: byjoke@bluewin.chNOSP X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.8 [en] (Win98; U) X-Accept-Language: en,fr MIME-Version: 1.0 Newsgroups: alt.healing.reiki Subject: Re: OT- parts of body & 'cause' for problems References: <2%mFa.35345$9C6.1656124@wards.force9.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit NNTP-Posting-Host: 81.62.5.243 X-Original-NNTP-Posting-Host: 81.62.5.243 X-Trace: news.bluewin.ch 1055760347 81.62.5.243 (16 Jun 2003 12:45:47 +0200) Organization: Bluewin AG Lines: 97 Complaints-To: abuse@bluewin.ch X-Original-NNTP-Posting-Host: 127.0.0.1 Path: chonsp.franklin.ch!pfaff.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!switch.ch!newsfeed-zh.ip-plus.net!news.ip-plus.net!news.bluewin.ch!not-for-mail Xref: chonsp.franklin.ch alt.healing.reiki:7331 Ginger back pains are of different origins burdens chocking difficult breathing are often due to inner stress , liver also has a sympthom under the right blade on the back one should start trying to recognize for instance when nervous which are his personal symptoms when steressed how one reacts physically and so on it is very important and also to distinguis from a real pain due to a muscular physical stress or a from mental stress or when both are joined Theo gingerobyn wrote: > *According to Louise Hays, who has the list you refer to, "The shoulders are > > meant to carry Joy not Burdens."* > > I often refer to Loiuse Hay's book too. I guess I intuit must be something mainly due to stress with you you need to get the right posture with your back bones walk like models do with a dictionary above your head ,straighten your back bone, pull gently your shoulders back and chest forword do not force and think that all you back bones and shoulders are pending like a puppet string starting from the top of your skull start get used to do losen movements gently and realax limbs wave free likea puppet You need to have the same position and center when sitting for meditation and if cross legged do not force and do hara( dantian) breathing to solve the inner tensions breath 20 times slowly and each day or next time add 10 more to get used to never force breathing must be a natural action automathic ..it takes sometime put at the same your tip tongue touching the palate vault Theo > > "Theo" wrote in message > news:3EEDA1CE.4463D557@bluewin.ch... > > Ginger back pains are of different origins > > > > burdens chocking difficult breathing are often due to inner stress > , > > liver also has a sympthom under the right blade on the back > > one should start trying to recognize for instance when nervous which > are > > his personal symptoms when steressed how one reacts physically and so on > > it is very important and also to distinguis from a real pain due to a > muscular > > physical stress or a from mental stress > > or when both are joined > > Theo > > > > > > gingerobyn wrote: > > > > > *According to Louise Hays, who has the list you refer to, "The shoulders > are > > > > meant to carry Joy not Burdens."* > > > > > > I often refer to Loiuse Hay's book too. (i guess not everything i say or think has to clutter up the board) but it bounced back. i guess you spam guarded your email address: thanks theo. i will try it. i have only just begun trying to meditate and i only just began taking yoga regularly but unfortunately my teacher had to take a haitus while she gets a new set-up. i am looking forward to beginning her class again because i really need guidance with these things. i need the discipline of knowing that i am going to a class at a certain time on a certain day and that i will get the instruction i need to follow through. left to my own devices i can't handle it yet. so as not to be misunderstood, it's not that i am saying that i will always need guidance or look to another to help me, it's just that it's hard to make something a practice or a habit if you are not sure about it.
