Parkinson's Disease is a disease of the central nervous system which affects movement and speech, characterised by uncontrollable twitching of the limbs. It is named after Dr James Parkinson, who in 1817 wrote the first description of the condition which he called the 'Shaking Palsy' and has gained wider publicity due to the celebrity Michael J. Fox (who has it). The main complaint from my client was there was significant pain in his upper shoulder area (trapezius muscle, in the area of Cervical 1-7 - that is to say the "neck bones".), secondary complaint was a lack of mobility. I began work on the right side of his back, gently and firmly feeling the condition of the muscles, and identifying the tense areas. After about 15 minutes on his right shoulder, the knots simply were not melting away. I began to think "Reiki," and naturally the energy flow immediately increased. Now usually I just let the Reiki flow as it is naturally drawn by the client, but in this man's case I decided to make an exception and consciously focus on the Reiki as much as tissue manipulation. The area seemed to become warmer, and I found myself thinking "it would be nice if others were here to help." Naturally, I then thought of Taggart and his Distant Reiju Empowerments. My critical mind immediately responded "that's on Mondays," and it was probably the healer in me that responded "who cares try it anyway!" Applying a firm, flat, and slow pressure with my entire hand, I pressed against his upper back muscles along the spine, tuned in to the existing Reiki flow, and thought "I will receive Reiki from Taggart now," and WHOOSH!!! It was as if a new ocean of healing Reiki energy bathed the entire treatment room and was absorbed by the client. "Ahhhh," said my client, "the pain is gone," and he continued with another sigh. "The knot did melt away," I responded, and then promptly went to work on other areas. All in all it was a wonderful treatment session. I feel blessed in that my career allows me to channel Reiki directly to people every day, and am fortunate to have met so many other wonderful Reiki healers from around the world. Thanks for sharing. One aspect of this that really connected with me, was the asking for assistance which I have found to be one of foundations of healing. For you; you were the one doing the asking and most definitely taped into a greater source. Yes, you are supported and the time factor is not a binding factor. I have had many similar experiences by evoking a much higher power. The results have been amazing. One particular session which your experience reminded me of was while I was working on a very devote Christian. ( I live in a very religious area so I have to be very careful at times not to offend my clients. ) This one client had a very severe Spinal curvature with many Knots, much like what you described.
