I suggested that I come along and give her Reiki at the same time as she had the massage. (Two reasons: 1. Curious about how the co-therapy would work in general. 2. Knowing that her shoulder has a lot of pain, I figured that the Reiki would keep her relaxed and reduce pain and tightening reactions during the treatment.) I pretty much just did Reiki at the feet, to stay out of the way of the MT. Wife was relaxed thoughout the treatment, even when her arm was moved to a position that would cause pain normally. She just said "enough". Likewise, when the RMT was working with her thumb in my wife's armpit (effective, but often excruciating), my wife said that she knew that this "should hurt", but the pain was not being processed. The therapist had a relaxed subject at all times, and was similarly impressed. (We did this twice, then I missed the last appointment. My wife reported that there was more pain and the MT could do less in-depth work.) Neat. Anaesthetically yours, Peter (I always have that effect on women... zzzzzzzzz) www.onreiki.com ###### From: stuv@cix.co.uk (Stuart Vernon) Newsgroups: alt.healing.reiki Subject: Re: Cooperative Therapy: MT and Reiki Date: Mon, 14 Apr 2003 23:59 +0100 (BST) Lines: 11 Message-ID: References: Reply-To: stuv@cix.co.uk NNTP-Posting-Host: public2-bolt3-3-cust49.oldh.broadband.ntl.com (80.2.124.49) X-Trace: fu-berlin.de 1050361190 472102 80.2.124.49 (16 [41161]) X-News-Software: Ameol2 X-URL: http://www.ameol.com Path: chonsp.franklin.ch!pfaff.ethz.ch!news-zh.switch.ch!news.imp.ch!news.imp.ch!fu-berlin.de!uni-berlin.de!public2-bolt3-3-cust49.oldh.broadband.ntl.COM!not-for-mail Xref: chonsp.franklin.ch alt.healing.reiki:4891 (Joel M.
