It has a Z80 and 80-144k ram and an optional 640k floppy drive! So far, old non-ms dos/mac style clamshell laptops I know of are: Tandy 200: i8085, 72k, app's in rom, 200k FDD Bondwell Model 2: Z80L, 64-512k, CP/M 2.2, 360k FDD NEC PC-8500: 8085, 64k, CP/M 2.2 & app's in rom, FDD Jonos Escourt: CP/M+, FDD And that's just the non-PC/Mac clamshels! These are really cool! (What? Me a collector? well, not yet) What others were there? What was youre favorite? Who can fill in the missing info on these? I suppose we could be picky and say it's only a clamshell laptop if it's hinged at the back like the NEC PC-8500, but I'm just not that picky. The reason I brought up these laptops specificaly is that everyone talks about the "calculator style" models-the TRS-80 100, Epson HX-20 (the first laptop) or the Sinclair/Cambridge Z88. I rarely ever hear about the PC-8500, M200, or NC200. I had never heard of the IS-11C. That and I prefer a screen that stics up were I can see it :) The NC200 is one of the best, and it's also the last of the best, being made in the 1990's. Hey, they're _still_ making non-PC and non-Mac compatible laptops. Of course, they do run Windows, but Windows CE... for example, IBM makes such a machine. And not that long ago, Epson made a laptop style machine with built in applications, but that sank beneath the waters of the market place rather quickly, despite being much cheaper than a real laptop. There were the Psion MC range of clamshell laptops in the early 90s (?), and the current Psion Netbook (Teklogix Netbook in some regions?) is also a non-Windows / non-Mac portable computer.
