That would be great ! I already have circuit diagrams but i want the original layout to build my own Ace. Informations (like circuit diagrams) about add-ons (e.g. sound- interface, color-if., printer-if. or joystick-if.) or software are welcome, too. I am not a reseller, i am a member of the German ZX- Team club (www.zx81.de) who still support the Ace. For all who don't know what a Jupiter Ace is: This was a small and cheap home computer at the beginning eighties sold by Jupiter Cantab (and later by Boldfield Computing). It had a white case with some red stripes and "Jupiter Ace" (or "Ace 4000" in the USA) in black letters on it and FORTH was the built-in language instead of the at that time very common BASIC. Despite FORTH it was much like the Sinclair ZX81 or the Timex TS1000. It had a Z80 cpu running with 3.25 MHz (may differ in the USA), 8k rom and 3k ram. bye, Christof ###### Path: chonsp.franklin.ch!not-for-mail From: Neil Franklin Newsgroups: alt.folklore.computers Subject: Re: Xerox copy of Jupiter Ace mainboard/layout wanted Date: 09 Apr 2001 23:13:57 +0200 Organization: My own Private Self Lines: 29 Message-ID: <6uu23x7p4a.fsf@chonsp.franklin.ch> References: <3AD1F0FE.33A6CAA4@web.de> NNTP-Posting-Host: chonsp.franklin.ch X-Trace: chonsp.franklin.ch 986850837 433 10.0.3.2 (9 Apr 2001 21:13:57 GMT) X-Complaints-To: news@chonsp.franklin.ch NNTP-Posting-Date: 9 Apr 2001 21:13:57 GMT X-Newsreader: Gnus v5.7/Emacs 20.4 Xref: chonsp.franklin.ch alt.folklore.computers:78567 Christof Odenthal writes: > does anybody have an empty Jupiter Ace or Ace 4000 mainboard or the > mainboard layout and can make a xerox copy of both sides for me ? > That would be great ! There must be some empty Ace boards around since Boldfield sold the remaining unfinished Ace parts at the end. By the way, there was a mouse and a light pen for the Ace and a disk interface for 5 1/4 inch disks was also planned. Fun to see that the schematics I once uploaded to ftp.nvg.unit.no are still around... If someone's interested in the schematics of an implementation of the ZX Spectrum's ULA (custom video chip) in TTL - drop me a line.
