It would be wonderous to be able to boot VMS once again... It might be easier to boot up a VAX you already own (I've had several), but an emulator would probably run faster than any VAX I'd care to haul home and power. I would suspect that a fairly modern PC could run VAX emulation faster than a MVII or VS2000. Probably faster than an 8650, which I wouldn't have room for. A 3100/90 is quite civilised, will give a Pentium a run for its money, and lives a a box quite a bit smaller than a an IBM PC/AT. Trouble is, people want real money for them... 8-) -- don
