Is it available memory? My numbers are always mid 70s to 80s. I read that it should be high 80s and 90s. When it gets in the 70s my computer gets sluggish. I restart and the SR number is back to about 86%. Thanks. ###### Path: chonsp.franklin.ch!usenet From: Neil Franklin Newsgroups: alt.folklore.computers Subject: Re: Why is my system resource low? Resources are all the stuff you have available to you, processor, memory, disks, screen space, etc. > My numbers are always mid 70s to 80s. I read that it > should be high 80s and 90s. That is because you are in alt.folklore.computers. This is a computer history newsgroup. So your resources will be older here. late-80s and 90s stuff is off limits here. So you should be using early-80s, or 70s or even earlier stuff. So all is OK with you computer. > When it gets in the 70s my computer gets > sluggish. Historic computers were a lot slower than todays new ones are. The earlier the slower. That is completely normal. > I restart and the SR number is back to about 86%. Because you are not in alt.folklore.computers any more. > Thanks. Thanks also. For the chance to have fun geeking out on you. P.S. If you think this post is a bit queer. It is because you posted with questions about "modern" (date wise, not design wise) computers in a history group. We do not fix broken new stuff here, we play around with working old stuff. -- Neil Franklin, Nerd, Geek, Unix Wizzard and Guru, Hacker, Mystic neil@franklin.ch.remove http://neil.franklin.ch/ Computer: toy that speeds work, so you have more time to play with it
