I work a lot at home and should probably be listening to Jerry Springer, but instead have been listening to the hearings and getting my blood pressure up and the foolishness and wastefulness of some of our elected officials. MY OPINION is that our President had consensual sex, and according to my definition lied about it, though legally did not. The 'what happened' seems so simple. He wasn't trying to destroy or subvert the government, he was trying to cover his butt. If he did perjure himself he is eligible for prosecution and as said he will not pardon himself or accept any pardon from any other president. HIS ACTIONS ARE NOT GROUNDS FOR IMPEACHMENT. What concerns me is what is about to happen. It appears that he will be impeached then tried and I just don't get it. It seems clear, at least to me, that the government and system of government is / was not threatened by his actions. In fact it seems he has been an effective and popular President. But I do not write to protect our current President, but the office. If this process goes to a trial before the Senate it is likely to have an effect on all Americans. If you feel as I do then contact your representative and tell them to vote no on impeachment or you will vote against them in the next election. If you feel the President should be impeached tell them to vote yes or you will vote against them in the next election. To find your representative go to www.house.gov or call 202-224-3121. I for one can not watch this happen, and what may happen, without at least trying to make this system work. No matter how you feel let them know. Encourage everyone you know to do the same.
