This book was first published in 1962. Impressive. Anyone know of other oldies still kicking? K&R's _The C Programming Language_ has been around for a long time (well, at least in "computer years") too. It's been updated for ANSI C, but still retains most all of its original organization. In the hardware world, Don Lancaster's _The TTL Cookbook_ is still being published. (And it hasn't been updated except for a new forward!) This must've been new in 1975 or so? That's a funny way to spell 'garbage'. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ > > In the hardware world, Don Lancaster's _The TTL Cookbook_ is > still being published. (And it hasn't been updated except for > a new forward!) This must've been new in 1975 or so? Hmmm - can't find it. His RTL Cookbook was c/r 1969, 4th printing 1972 - $5.50(US) $6.60(Can) paperback. Then the CMOS Cookbook was c/r 1977, 3rd printing 1978 which mentions the prior TTL, (sold for $13.25 Can). What floored me was the new editions of D. Knuth's The Art of Computer Programming. I dimly remember coughing up $20 (Can) each for volumes 1 to 3 - today's books are about $70! ###### From: crosby@nag.cs.colorado.edu (Matthew Crosby) Newsgroups: alt.folklore.computers Subject: Re: Old computer manuals still in print?
