Anyway, here's a fairly comprehensive formula: a) Open Netscape Composer (Start -> Run -> netscape -composer) (or from navigator, Communicator-> Composer (Alt+3)) b) Format -> Page Colors and Properties c) Background Image -> Use Image (click in checkbox) d) Tell Nutscrap where the gif/jpg original image is e) Custom Colors -> Normal Text... f) Choose a colour easily distinguishable from any in the image g) Click OK h) Second combo box on the toolbar, select Fixed Width i) Third combo box on the toolbar, select font size j) Diddle away! h) Save the html file at intervals (so you don't lose your work!) Then when you think you've finished, highlight your work and see if you've missed anything - if necessary re-diddling it. When completely satisfied, highlight your ascii pic, Edit -> Copy, then paste it into notepad and save. Tip: Especially if the original is fairly small, load it into an image editing program, resize to double/quadruple each axis, then save under a different name. Load this new image into Composer. Another tip: Some image editors offer an 'improved' resize which reduces blockiness when sizing up and increases 'smoothness' when sizing down. In PSP this is known as 'resample' (sits directly above 'resize' in the menu).
