But, I'll be fine once I can take off the bandages | |___________________ | \ |/ \/ === ha ===== ,^ ha -----%===^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ha ha /== " " / Of course I always use the # character in my character entities too and should have proofread. It's very easy to remember that > is the same as > because the top of the two points in the same direction. It's also very easy to look up numbers for odd characters by going to the character map on the computer instead of searching the web. The only reason I switched to using numbers was because my antiquated Netscape 3 does not recognize all the "letter" character-entities and I was seeing webpages (not mine) that had ™ instead of the trademark symbol. So I switched. I also recall that Joan was seeing a whole ton of   on her pages when she upgraded to one of the Netscape 4. Yet another reason to switch to numbers. Get Netscape!)) Sorry, but _YOU_ don't care about the HTML standards but care instead about those silly netscape extensions. Why do you use Netscapes Browser? Just because it isn't from MicroSoft? Watch out, the navigator is more far away from the standards than the internet explorer is. But if you want to use a browser that really implements the standards (and doesn't implement new silly extensions) then why not take a look at Opera [1]? Yes, you have to pay (a little) fee for it - but you get IMHO a much better browser than navigator or i-explorer. One, that really cares for standards (btw, Opera is #1 in CSS implementation ;-P ) and doesn't waste time on thinking of new standards.... I think Microsoft's non-support of BLINK was caused more by Not-Invented-Here syndrome than by any concern for users ... because they have a similarly-&%$#-annoying equivalent, MARQUEE. > Unfortunately, Netscape, in my opinion, is better software. Eh? Netscape isn't software, Netscape is a company which *makes* software. > Oh well. > I'll have to endure the <BLINK> tag endlessly. >... No you won't. Mozilla 5 (from which Netscape Communicator 5 will be developed) does not support BLINK, it only supports standard HTML (except in its `emulate quirks of previous browsers' mode). Hooray.
