Q: Why are you building an installer?

A: - Because we dont like baby-sitting install programs (its boring)
   - Because we want an exactly repeatable install (after HD replacement)


Q: Why not use FAI (Fully Automated Install)

A: - I looked at it and came to the conclusion that it is too complicated. It
     also fits our existing style badly (retraining, etc)
   - FAI seems to be an top-down thinkers way (it comes from an CS group)
     while dphys2 is an bottom-up thinkers design (comes from admins)
   - The world can do with an choice of automated installers. This one intends
     to be the simple end of things. If this project had not already had its
     dphys name, I would have called it SAI (Simple Automated Installer)


Q: Why is this called dphys2

A: It replaces our existing dphys, an cut down Slackware, that simply installs
   itsself and then copies an saved Debian install over itsself(!), written
   (OK, put together) by an office mate. Blame him for the choice of name :-).


Q: Why are dphys and dphys2 called that, anyway?

A: It stands for Debian Powered Hosts Yet Simple, and it is an backronym, from
   D-PHYS (Departement of PHYSics)
